Video: RidicuList: Cougar controversy

    I think this is funny that the school district has a problem with the cougar mascot and it's vague sexual innuendo when their just slightly older university students attending BYU in Provo, Utah have been the cougars for a very long time. I seriously doubt any of the students thought of the sexual innuendo when proposing the name but now that it's an issue, that is certainly what they are thinking about now!

    I live in Utah and the high school mascot cougar contraversary is really ridiculous. Those of you from Utah know BYU is huge here and they are a highly religious school. And guess what – they are cougars !!!!!! Does that mean these complaining high school parents will not allow their kids to go to BYU?

    being a resident of Draper, I find this story extremely funny. The superintendent clearly made this story up because only the kids wanted the cougar as a mascot, as it is also a mascot to nearby Brigham Young. The board and adults in the community wanted their own unique name, and therefore ignored the kids vote, and changed the mascot to the "charger". I would love to see the emails and phone calls the super is claiming to received. I am sure there are none or very few. My belief is that he simply made this excuse up or exaggerated complaints to justify the name change. Just another one of his cover-ups–that bit him in the rear.
