I do believe they are heroes. These are the remainder of those who decided to demonstrate their grief and redress vehemently and be heard. These are people who planned out a mission and have gone full speed through the obstacle course and into the spotlight. There have been many who have given up. But those who know that each step in a march has a purpose have stood tall. For this, I consider them heroes.
If I wasn't such a slave to my banks to prevent my own lifestyle collapse and am lucky enough to have a job, I would be physically down to Occupy Wall Street NYC. I talk to people everyday that don't understand that civil unrest is the only way to get around the elected reps in office doing the bidding of corporate greed.
I still have not seen the media adequately explain the fractional reserve banking system on the mainstream news. The protesters know what is going on, but unfortunately the media is controlled by the same people who want the scam against the public to continue. Take for example how the banks lend money that they do not actually have, get into trouble, the taxpayers bail them out, and then the banks pay their executives millions in bonuses. Anyone can see that the system is unfair.
Why do politicians like Mr. King resort to fallacies? When he discredits protesters by exaggerating poor living conditions and emphasizing isolated incidents of violence, he shows his own agenda. A weak attempt to belittle the OWS protests. Be strong my friends, I may not stand in New York, but I stand with you.
Please ! Van Jones, a communist. Is this the best you can do? Those of us who know well what he stands for don't agree with what he wants for America – If Van Jones is a voice for occupy wall street this only confirms that the movement is so extreme to the left that it will never be taken seriously by majority of Americans. As Beatles' song Revolution goes: `But if you're talking about destruction, well don't you know that you can count me out'
You could tell he was a son of a policeman. Obviously has a one-track mind on this subject (repeating they are living in feces etc). He doesn't seem to realize his pompous attitude is part of the reasons the OWS members are protesting. I am embarrassed to be one of his generation...
