Reporter's Note: Each day I write a letter to the president. As far as I know, he has never seen even one of them, and he has certainly never responded, but that is no reason to give up hope, is it?.
Dear Mr. President,
As I write this I am riding down a remote highway in Canada on assignment, so as you might guess my thoughts are somewhat removed from the whole DC political scene.
Rather, I am on the lookout for moose, bears, or whatever other critters we might scare up. (As an aside, a fellow I met this morning told me all about the time he saw a wolverine! Can you imagine?)
It is a tad cold here, but if the wind were not blowing it would be quite tolerable. Still, winter is not yet really on the land, so I suppose we should be grateful for the relatively mild weather.
Heaven knows I have been in much worse, much chillier spots, so I won't complain.
What's all this ruckus I keep hearing about Herman Cain? Sounds as if the loud crowd is hot on his tail over...well, whatever it is that he did years ago which seems to have displayed some questionable judgment.
If you get a moment, give me a call and let me know any developments. Otherwise, I hope your week is going well.
Regards,
Tom
