Anderson –
The question that needs to be asked is simple...
Did the U.S. meet its strategic/national objectives in Iraq? Yes or No?
Let's back up...what were the strategic/national objectives in Iraq?
Given that all elements of national power (Diplomatic, Military, Economic, Information) SHOULD synchronize efforts to achieve our national objectives, I wonder, what are the Military and State Department inputs to this "plan" on achieving success in Iraq and transition?
More importantly, what "cuts" did Obama's National Security Council (or its derivatives) make to the plan and how did they sell it to POTUS?
You ask the tough questions sir...I appreciate your efforts!
We're OUT. Good. Not a moment too soon. It's time for the Iraqis to STEP UP.
Hello Anderson, I know that you are always on the right side of the argument, so please remind the American people about US Army's translators in Iraq. I am one of them, and I was ablae to make it here to the US, but my family are still hiding and moving arround inside Iraq because they have been threatened by terrorests groups because of my work with the US Army. The terrorists think that my family are american spies, and they want to kill them, so please stand up for those families because if they get killed by terrorists the president will be in the wrong side of the history of Iraq war. thank you verry much Anderson, and you are my best TV reporter
The Iraqis have wanted us out of their country for years. Bush promised we would only be there as long as they wanted us there.... Thank God we are finally getting our troops out of a place that didn't want us there to begin with. I am still a believer that "going to war in Iraq for what happened on 9-11 is like bombing Mexico for what happened at Pearl harbor.
The question is: Is it too soon to get our military out of Iraq ! Some say we should have our military there until things are stable because there are continueing sectarian differences ! For Pete's sake ! There are sectarian differences in Ireland between Catholics and Protestants ! There are differences between Mormons and Baptists, Hindus and Sikhs, Republicans and Democrats ! Even if we didn't pull troops out for a decade, does any rational person think they'll ever be palsy-walsy with each other? Dream on.... get the troops out ASAP and let those people get back to managing their own irreconcilable differences !
