Cain Controversy and Contradiction: Join the Live Chat

Herman Cain's willingness to speak his mind has made him a surging contender for the Republican presidential nomination, even though time after time his statements are in direct contradiction to the facts. You'll hear example after example tonight on the program. We're keeping him honest. Plus, remember the bridge to nowhere? Well, tonight you'll hear about another Alaskan boondoggle: an airport being built on an uninhabited island at a cost of $60 million to the American taxpayer. we sent 360's Gary Tuchman to investigate.

Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

This investigator doesn't seem to have done her job well. I heard earlier that she destroyed her original notes.

I heard it reported and i agree, this investigator did damage to the prosecution.

Great discussion with Mr.Tom M. He made many good points about the case.

That's why once one should find out that one is going to be a parent, start right in there helping out with the child. Who knows that child could be your winning ticket!

It has been truly wonderful to see such an outpouring of feelings from the public for Steve Jobs!

I know i would love to get a copy of the commencement speech he made. It was remarkably wise for such a young man.

You're right Anderson, Steve Jobs start in life and young life is very interesting.

Just search online for "text Steve Jobs' commencement speech" and think you will find it. It is great.

No matter what ANY of the politicians say about cuts & jobs, it remains "business as usual" in WA on Both sides!

This airport reminds me of the "bridge to no where". Oh look, it's in Alaska too.

This is So Wrong!! The federal gov. needs to demand that the Corp. Pay for their airport!! 1 Million is Nothing!

Great report by Gary T., as usual.

Cut me a break! You can't get to the airport only on good weather days?! This is NUTS! I guess i'm writing to the President & several congressmenwomen again.

Solyndra went wrong before we invested. There was every sign of problems there.

    earmarks gone wild – funny!
if one is to get rid of earmarks, would one not also have to eliminate lobbying? that entrenched practice is far to embedded in the whole political process to be realistically changed any time soon (or so it would seem)

    Good evening Anderson, & Bloggers.
I find it interesting that the GOP can't come together behind one candidate.

    October 6, 2011 at 8:17 pm |
    • Starr, formerly know as vincent

Hi Emily, i don't get it either. We will have to see where the Tea Party lands on this.

      October 6, 2011 at 8:24 pm |
    • Chris

Perhaps it's because the party is basically two parties, the Tea Party and the Republicans. Once they arrive at a candidate, it's the independent vote that will count.

      October 6, 2011 at 8:27 pm |
    • Matt

Remember the Democrats in the last primary were divided between Obama and Clinton, so the same could be said about both parties

      October 6, 2011 at 8:33 pm |
      • Chris

I agree and in the end, they all supported Obama. There's really nothing new about this division this early.

        October 6, 2011 at 8:55 pm |

Republicans, Tea Party Republicans and anti tea party republicans they will come together by 2013

Cain said “if you are not rich blame yourself” first step to become rich own home
Real problems is most Americans lost their house values dramatically we don’t know when we will recover from that
    American dream in ? Mark

I am no Cain supporter but his history of Planned Parent is largely correct. Margaret Sanger and the organization she founded were proponents of eugenics policies. They actively promoted forced sterilization and abortion for people with mental handicaps, immigrants, and other poor minorities including African Americans.

Good evening Anderson & Team 360.

    Hello sound off friends!

Mr. Cain has said some things i consider outrageous. I don't understand What his "appeal" is.

As far as Perry & Romney, i can't figure which one will "catch fire" to be the Rep. candidate. Personally, i am not impressed with either.

      October 6, 2011 at 8:10 pm |
    • Starr, formerly know as vincent

There are two things that i think have made this particular primary race unusal lisal.

      1. Different factions within the Rep. party have been actively looking for a better candiate than what is in the field nowl

      2. FLA moving up its Primary has put tremdous pressure on All of the candidates in terems of exposre, getting money, endorsements, etc.

The one thing he has that the others do not is that he is willing to trash Blacks. The more he does it, the higher his numbers rise among the tea party.

Cain does not have a clue on what is going on with Black America!

    October 6, 2011 at 8:05 pm |
    • vic , nashville ,tn

i agree with you and with small change Cain does not have a clue on what is going on in America!

      October 6, 2011 at 8:09 pm |
      • Chris

Given how he grew up, I think he understands more than we think.

        October 6, 2011 at 8:14 pm |
    • kaytee

I know a loooot of black people and we all agree that he has no clue about Black America! And his statement about getting one third of the black vote is just as ridiculous as he is! Just an Allen Keys wannabe.

      October 6, 2011 at 8:19 pm |
      • Chris

It seems that we have trouble with a black person running on the Republican ticket. I think we have reached a point in our country that all of the different ethnic groups will among themselves vote for different parties and different candidates.

        October 6, 2011 at 8:22 pm |
        • kaytee

Really? Not so long as the republican party support policies that are not friendly to minorities, which is probably why Obama and Gore got over 90 percent of the African American vote and Kerry 88 percent. And the way the republicans are being lead by the tea party these days, I doubt that number will change too much.

          October 6, 2011 at 8:44 pm |
          • Chris

I think we just have to agree to disagree on this one. I think we all see what we want and it's not always the same.

            October 6, 2011 at 8:47 pm |
            • kaytee

We can agree or not, but the fact is the numbers speak for themselves, and like I said, I doubt if they will change much in the black community in the next election. Maybe I'm wrong, but no one I know is being fooled by the republicans so far.

              October 6, 2011 at 8:52 pm |

Please keep him honest Anderson. He has been saying some outlandish things! He even started out one statement by saying there were no facts to back it up! What?? Don't say it then.
