I'm so angry about this story I can't even talk about it. "Defraud those men"??? Those poor girls. Thanks Mitch Daniels.

    September 1, 2011 at 8:44 pm |
    • Starr, formerly know as vincent

I agree with your anger, Sharon. I feel the same. It seems it's always the women who bear such negative behavior in such religious cults! An Outrage!

Gary is asking a yes or no question.....he can not answer it!

  15. Starr, formerly know as vincent

It is an Outrage that "religious cults" can abuse children, especially girls!!

    This report is seriously distrubing.

Somebody is accountable for this behavior! I refuse to believe that No One in the county, state, or federal gov. Can't do anything abou this!

    September 1, 2011 at 8:43 pm |
    • Heather - Spokane, WA

What i also got from this is that these killings and abuse cases are mainly involving girls. Not to mention that recording from the 'minister's' preach is that women are at fault for everything, that we bring it on ourselves. It also sounds like rape would be girls' fault too and that men and boys are innocent in this

      September 1, 2011 at 8:48 pm |
  16. Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA

Not right abuse all many teenager girls!!!!!!!!! It is so wrong to do that abuse girls!!!!! It is so disgust to me, Gary T!!!!!

    September 1, 2011 at 8:43 pm |
  17. Heather - Spokane, WA

It makes me sick when people hide behind God and say that he said it was ok when they kill their kids, beat them to death or abuse them at all. Disgusting

    September 1, 2011 at 8:40 pm |
    • Starr, formerly know as vincent

I agree whole heartedly Heather. Someone Needs to be held accountable.

And, we, as Americans, condemn Islamists who abuse the girls & women. We need to clear our own house too!

It's cruel for the first responders not to receive compensation–anyone can see they were working in an extremely unhealthy atmosphere.

    September 1, 2011 at 8:27 pm |
  29. lisal -canada

even with the hurricane being downgraded, it sure packed a whallop – so much flooding – quite a bit more than i think a lot of people actually expected

Asa retired RN, or even as a lay-person, it has amazed me that ground zero air was declared "safe" at the time of Sept. 11th and the days following.
The first responders who worked daily for months, under a very mistaken clearance of "safe air".
You would think that our government would be Very interested in helping these men & women as much as possible with health issues that so obviously affected their health!
Dr. Gupta makes an excellent point re: the combination of chemicals in the "dust" that lingered over the area for months. How could lung & cancer issues Not be determined to have been Detrimental to their health!!
I hope they all get the help that they so desparately need, including mental health treatment too.

    September 1, 2011 at 8:23 pm |
  31. Heather - Spokane, WA

It makes me mad and sad at the same time that the first responders are not getting the help they need. they went in when people were getting out and they were helping those who needed it most and now they are not getting help when they need it the most

    September 1, 2011 at 8:23 pm |
    • Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA

      Heather,
I agree with you........ We thought we don't know how find out leak from since almost 10 years now no answer to see this. Dr. Sanjay Gutpa is also right answer link cancer caused by dust cloud..... Yeah.... It is also mad and sad to me, Indeed.

    Hellooooo everyone and Anderson!!!!

    Happy Thursday night!!!
My goodness that is so terrible shock link to cancer caused by dust since 9/11!!!
(Sorry to late join with you, I ate my dinner after!!!!!)

    September 1, 2011 at 8:22 pm |
  33. Sharon Hastings

I'm not surprised by the new study. So many of the first responders have been ill. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that they were exposed to huge amounts of harmful chemicals. I hope they get the help they deserve.

Gadhafi will never think he is out of a position of power over Libya.

    September 1, 2011 at 8:17 pm |
    • Heather - Spokane, WA

He seems to think he is invincible and that he is more powerful than anyone or anything. Someone needs to knock him off his pedistole (sp?) and get him out of office

      September 1, 2011 at 8:20 pm |
    • Vince

      Greetings everyone,

      Paula,

Seemingly, Gadhafi lives in the realities of his own world in which he rules forever!

      September 1, 2011 at 8:25 pm |
  35. Heather - Spokane, WA

I think it may be time that our government does another secret mission like they did with Bin Laden to get Syria's leader out of office and stop the mass killings going on there

Hi Heather, glad to see you back. In re: Gadaffi, hopefully "someone" will get to him & his sadistic son Siaf!

I couldn't agree more! That family needs to be taken down, they are too dangerous to be around people

        September 1, 2011 at 8:32 pm |
        • Starr, formerly know as vincent

Well said Heather. It appears that most of the Gadaffi family are sciopaths and Are dangerous to Anyone around them~!
For example, look at the nanny who was scaled all over her body for Not "beating" one of the sons toddler!

One of my Favorite consultants, Prof. Ajami. He informs us so well of what each Arab/Muslim country that has fought and have won and are still trying to win their freedom.
I also Love how Prof. Ajami insults Gadaffi (ignorant, hyena, etc) while he is speaking the truth!

God bless the Syrian people, who continue Non-Violence demonstrations, daily, in the face of a Brutal response!

Of course Syria would air Gadaffi's speech, they are birds of a colour.

    September 1, 2011 at 8:13 pm |

I like his insights too, he is insultive without being insultive, haha.

It is a pleasure also, to see Libya re-organizing an entire country and enjoying the well fought for freedom.
I hope they locate Gadaffi & his sons, especially Siaf ASAP andbring them to justice.
