Plus, opposition fighters in Libya searching for Moammar Gadhafi. They claimed they had him surrounded in Tripoli. We'll check in with our reporters in Libya.

Lisa, Warren Buffet has donated almost all of his billions to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. His only request was that they use the money for the charities while Bill and Melinda were alive. That was quite a compliment to the Gates Foundation and certainly extremely humanitarian.

I was talking with some friends today, and still remember when MAC kicked Jobs out of the company only go back begging him to return (13 yrs later) because they were nothing without him. I really have serious doubts that they can last long term with him, at least in the #1 spot. I wonder if Apple & Microsoft will reunite to stop GOOGLE from overtaking them both? Thoughts anyone?
I think Apple will do fine for several years. No company holds top spot forever, of course. They have a lot in the pipeline and he will be Chairman. I just wish he could beat his illness.

Yes, Anderson is right. Down here in Florida, residents know the drill and they follow it. I have been in 3 hurricanes since moving down here. One of them very severe–no power for a week, roofs taken off, thousands of trees completely denuded or uprooted, terrific storm surges. Everyone knows "run from the water, hide from the wind". We all have kits and stockpiles of needed supplies just in case. We know to fill up our bathtubs when it's close in case power is lost, you can use that water to flush toilets etc. I still keep certain food items stocked in the pantry just in case. But--if there is any danger of a surge of water or you are very near the water, you have to evacuate. I have stayed in my home with my storm shutters through a very bad category 3 and I'll never do it again.

She was able to find common feelings and connect with the guard. The journalists were very lucky to have her there. She speaks their language and she seems very cool and calm.

Hurricane is Irene creating quite a stir! Hoping for the best for the USA East Coast . Best advice is to follow all necessary precautions, with the preparedness lists of emergency supplies, the hurricane manuals and contingency plans and be as best prepared as possible to secure life & property.

They have to find Gadhafi so the loyalists will quit fighting. It does look like chaos but what else can they do but go in spurts looking for him as they get information and tips.

I lived in Charleston when Hugo came through. We were told that there were hundreds of tornado s produced by the storm. I don't hear any talk about the possibility tornado s being produced by Irene. Is this a given or new findings that tornado s are not produced by hurricanes?

Having experienced several hurricanes there are indeed small tornadoes sometimes in the midst of the hurricanes. You see the strangest things during the hurricanes – at times the sky turns into beautiful sunset during the passing of the hurricane eye which is the calm moment and then suddenly goes back to the dark night, once the eye has passed

Gadhafi may be crazy but he is not stupid. He is not waiting in the hole like Saddam.
Gadaffi has had a long time & a lot of money to build many hideaways.

Hurricane Irene looks to be a very dangerous situation. I hope no one tries to ride this one out. I've read detailed accounts of the Hurrican of '38 that Anderson spoke of and the storm surge is especially dangerous. Be safe, don't try to ride it out.

Yes, it certainly looks like a very dangerous storm. My little sister lives on the outer banks. I tried to reach her cell and just got message. I have heard it is Mandatory evacuation, but she does Not like to leave and i don't know if they can Make her!
