The fight to topple a despised dictator is on right now in Libya. Gunfire is heard in Tripoli and there are reports of new NATO airstrikes.
Are these the last day's of the Gadhafi regime?

Good night everyone! Love and peace! Waiting for the Anderson Premier~!!!
Good night Anderson! Good night Everyone! Sweet dreams!
This story has so much humanity in it. The Libyan voices will have a lot to say and this viewer is ready to hear them. Take pride in humanity tonight.
Yes our President has handled all of this very well. And the proof is that we have heard little from the Republicans in criticism except for a very brief statement by John McCain saying that we could have shortened the war by using our air strike capabilities.
That is a good point. Libyans chose the course of their future with Gadahfi. That is very empowering for them.
Anderson,
I agree with your question all of panels Marie-Ann, Bob and Ajami!!! Good point there!
Right. They will need alot of help of all kinds. We don't have to do all the helping but they have a long way to go to establish themselves in a new government. But there is hope. Only a few short months ago most were saying these rebels would never succeed, that they weren't trained, that they couldn't possibly hold up against real soldiers. Pretty amazing what has happened.
So glad to see Prof. Ajami & his opinions – he always teaches me something. The Prof. seems very glad – like many of us.
Anderson, excellent commentary on "institutions". Gadaffi could have made his country great, but he kept the money for himself.
"Free at last, Free at last, Thank god all mighty we are free at last." `MLK
Living with hope is so much better than without!
Amen to that Lori! You are quite profound tonight! 🙂
Good point there, Lori!!!!!!! I agree! 🙂
Starr, I agree. Another disturbing info is around 80% still support Assad.
80% support? Really? I truly pray that is in error.
Ready for part 2 of the pee off~
Excellent discussions on Libya, Anderson. (Great photos too.)
Hey bloggers,
I agree with all of you!!!!!! Good point, Gadhafi will be end of his rules right now for sure! 🙂
Will there be a Ridiculist tonight? Will there be another one that tops last wee, wee, week?
23 year old seeing some hope in her life
How many of born and die under Gadaffi rule
This woman surely speaks for so many there and it must be such an emotional time. I hope and pray that they will truly be free and can have a say in their government.
We will never know full extent of US involvement. As we shouldn't. I just hope Syria is watching.
I 'm certain that Syria is watching. My fear is they will become even more Brutal (if that's possible) to defeat their people's uprising.
On the other hand, my prayers are that the Syrian People Finally Win!
A profound statement. They are watching and if their leaders are not a little scared they are very naive.
Goodnight all. May peace be secured in Libya, and sanity prevail.
Noura is a well spoken young woman. And, I think very brave for expressing her opinion!
Nato has to put troops on the ground as soon as possible.
So many options on what can happen.
One thing i believe is, if the rebels or the people get Gadaffi, he will not live long. I think emotions will run too high.
My prayer is that the Gadaffi family flees the area and Lybia can stip into (hopefully) a peaceful transition.
I forgot to add Arrested!
A good train of thought and it will be important to see how they react if he is captured. It will set the tone for their transition.
Agreed.
Starr!
I agree with you, 2 sons already had arrested for sure.... I think that people want him out of his power/control as well.
People have to understand he does not have that many Libyan supporters. He has been paying foreigners lot of money on daily basis. Once he stops they are gone. One thing that might have happened he paid them to take him out hide him. We all saw what happened with karadzic and mladic. It took years to find them.
This is amazing news about new governance in Libya. Is America in a position to support a new government in Libya?
That is a very good question Lori !
I think we will offer them assistance and ask what they would like from us. It could be a good friendship. We will not repeat our same mistakes this time.
I guess everybody feels a change all over the world!
did the US supply the guns?
I think Gadhafi did, inadvertently of course.
Thanks Bill
Yes, Betty..... They did.
Thank you megan!!!! 😀
Also hope that all the Reporters of all nationalities stay safe during this ordeal.
Good evening all. 42 years and he is gone. Hard to grasp. If people are able to have smooth transition Libya will be great country. One good thing gadhafi did was is invest part of vast fortune he stole into country it self. Libya is probably most developed country in Africa.
@Saray>>I like what you are blogging
Seems to be that Rebels spreading rumors more than facts 🙁
Of course these are Gadhafi's last days...Last Hours. I am ecstatic. My brother in law is a member of the NTC...When Tunisia went...followed by Egypt....we were holding our breath...and now we can exhale.
The journalists in Tripoli have incredible courage–I pray for their safety.
Good reporting Sarah. Please be safe you and your crew.
Does Saif have a body double - either at the hotel or captured????
Don't know but it appears to really be him.
I was thinking the same
Can’t take eyes from TV
My 10 year old daughter wrote a short report on the situation in Libya today. She used google to do her research. I intend to scan it and post it to Ireport tonight. There are some inaccuracies I have seen probably through confusion in trying to interpret the stories by herself but I am extremely proud of her
That's so wonderful that your 10 year old takes an interest in the world and does a report. You should be proud.
That's quite a daughter you have there Grant. Perpahs she can teach us all things we don't know about Lybia. Good for her!
wow – libya – difficult to actually take it all in
This is good reporting Mattew Chance. Please be safe you and your crew.
Hi Anderson! Hi Everyone! Good evening!
Rumors undoubtedly fly around in the heat of battle so maybe the rebels who reported these things thought they were true. I hope Gadhafi's troops didn't lay back and let rebels come in only to surround them and do damage. I doubt we know much that's completely accurate.
I understand that there can be confusion in the "fog of war".
I am also concerned about what you said about essentially "trapping" the rebel troops in Tripoli. God i hope not.
I think it is just part of their media campaign just like Syria saying that innocent people are not dying.
@Grant>> agree
Evening Anderson & Team 360.
Hello blogger friends!
I am extremely disappointed that Saif al Islam is Not captured! He has much blood on his hands.
Very glad to hear Matthew Chances voice. Prayers to keep him and the other journalists Safe!
Patience, The people will have their day.
Good evening everyone,
Without a foot on the ground we assisted the Libyan people in grasping their own freedom. This is what our foreign policy should be.
@Grant>> Do you mean the U.S. when you state "We"? The media reported that the U.S. was not of great assistance to Libya.
Hellooooo everyone and Anderson!!!!
Thanks for coming in for join us tonight! 😀
Hope you have great weekend! 🙂
Happy Monday night!!!
Way to go, Matthew Chance, He fonally found one of son at hotel!!!!!!!!! 🙂
Good evening everyone. What's going on in Tripoli?? Now it seems that Gadhafi's sons are not captured. Calls into question the other claims.
Anderson,
Hi! It's great to see you on. I hope you had a good weekend.
Amazing progress in Libya–though the rebels are still experiencing setbacks. I look forward to your coverage tonight.
Good Evening Everyone! Greetings!
