Stocks take a beating on Wall Street. The Dow plunging 634 points with investors losing a trillion dollars in one day. The fallout from the S&P's credit rating downgrade. Plus, Anderson reports live from a refugee camp along the Kenya-Somalia border where nearly half-a-million people a desperate for help.

Here are some of them:
1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

Excellent program tonight, Anderson. I hope somehow assistance will come quickly for these people. I pray you all stay safe in your travels.
no matter what timeslot this show is in, the hour always seems to go too quickly
looking forward to following the journey over the next few days
nite – thoughts of comfort to all who are suffering
Good night Anderson, everyone and my friends!!!!!!!
See you tomorrow night, Have a great night & Sleep tight everyone!!!
Anderson,
Be safe and careful for me and see you tomorrow night in Kenya!! 🙂
Good night everyone. FYI, if you go to American Red Cross you can select the African famine to donate to–or whoever you choose. Stay safe and see you all tomorrow.
It's hard to believe that prolonged situations/places like this still exist. There should be ways of getting these people pregnancy prevention education and resources while under these conditions. They would not make a conscience choice to bring additional children into the world with the circumstances at hand
.
30,000 people are a lot of people who are suffering and dying because of the famine.
Good night Everyone! Sweet dreams
Good night everyone.
Pray for the young children.
How has this been repeated? What are the exact circumstances?
Monday – Thursday

thanks Anderson360 for bringing hope to these desperate children....this compassion is what puts you apart from the crowd.
Good for Jill Biden. And so glad Anderson is calling attention to the emergency needs in Somalia. Even a small donation can be so helpful.
Those are very harsh conditions
I will donate, anyone else?
I will definitely donate; just hope it helps.
Sharon,
Yes,.,,, It is......... She is so concern about children as well, They don't have food/water either.
I donated today. Hope to be able to keep donating a little each month.
I do not understand why these people continue to have children under these conditions. I am not sure I would.
I see Jill in a different light!
I like Anderson's new time!
I agree with you, Lori!!!!!!
Me too!!!!!
Me too Lori but I think I heard that it was just temporary for a couple of months until the new 8 p.m. programming starts ?
Lol Sharon this is the 8 pm programming it is just a wierd adjustment for those of us in Cali.
Yes, for now......... Sharon........ 🙂
Well, food shortage!
Good Evening Everyone! Greetings!
it appears as though "politics as usual" is morphing
The market meltdown is terrible. The global response is scary and increases my anger over our congress and their inability to work together for the people of this country. I think the President should call congress back and get them to take ACTION. Time for tea partiers to get real.
Yes Sharon, How is our country supposed to heal while congress is on vacation. It's like they are trying to ride out the storm out of the spotlight. They have abandoned us. Even if you don't like Obama at least he is on the job.
Yes he is but as you know, he doesn't have a pre-set vacation schedule every year like Congress so it's really apples and oranges. However, I agree with those who think he should call Congres back. They all got us into this so let them come back and stay focused on the issues to resolve it.
Fair enough if they come back and get to work, maybe even come together to save our economy the bad blood toward politicians might just evaporate.
Ever since Anderson reported the other day that they scheduled 23 weeks out of session this year I have been angry about this. Wrote my congressman letting them know I expected full time work for the full time wages he is getting. I too feel like they just said, well that crisis is averted so were done for now.
Good for you Carla. I think records are being set on numbers of people writing their congressmen and the President.
President Obama really needs to do something to ease unemployment.
I was looking at cnn facebook poll it appears Americans are apathetic towards the starvation, it's a little sad.
I know Grant, I was really embarrassed at some of the comments, or maybe ashamed was more in line.
Me too.
Welcome back Sharon, Carla you found us.
Anderson,
Hi! Great reporting from Kenya–though very heartbreaking to see.
Hello
Hi!
How are you weathering this storm Lori?
I am rolling with the turbulence. And you?
I bought a few shares we will survive this.
It's encouraging that you dipped your toe in; hope it works out. Historically it's been the thing to do but no one has the nerve at the time.
Hi guys. Where is everyone?
This new time is quite early for the western half of the country; maybe that's why some aren't here yet.
Yes it is what will I do for the rest of the night when the news cycle ends?
the situation in somalia sounds so horrible – the numbers quoted are staggering
Yes Lisal–it's hard to watch and my mind has a hard time taking in the sheer numbers of starving.
Hi Anderson! Hi Everyone!
