well i think he was encouraged by the wife to get himself a young girl – think about it – she was probably going through that all these years and perhaps she could not get away but if she replaced herself with a younger girl then she would finally be left alone – i mean, what did he do BEFORE jaycee?

I don't have a stong enough word for the couple who "stalked" children.
God bless Ms. Dugard & her children. I pray and hope that she will have a chance at a "good" life, without any more nightmares. (Although i know keeping the memories away will likely be difficult.)

Is Dr. Bachmann a licensed psychologist? In what area does he hold a Ph.D.? Is it from an accredited institution? Is he a member of the American Psychological Association? If the answer is yes, he is violating APA ethics by implementing a practice outside of the scope of psychology. APA recently published an exhaustive review and analysis of reparative therapy and concluded that it does not meet standards of ethical practice, and that it can additionally be harmful to clients. PSychologists lose licenses for such things - santeria, voodoo, reparative therapy, and other fringe practices are not considered within the scope of psychology. He should not be allowed to practice within this field.

The real question would be... is he a Licensed Psychologist? And which state is he licensed in? Each state differs a little regarding approved types of therapy; however, if he is licensed, then he must abide by the APA

There is an old gay saying that I knew very well......."eveyone's gay". If that's true and I believe it is, then everyone is also straight.........meaning there is a choice. I know from experience, that one can live a straight life, even if one has lived a gay life.

Been following this story. It's an absolute disgrace that people still treat gays so horribly and believe such therapy methods are actually effective. They are harmful and do not work. It's time for the United States to join the rest of the 1st world, and stop living in ignorance about gays. On the issue of Marcus Bachmann, I believe everything he says is important, since Michelle Bachmann said she listens to and follows everything her husband says. If she gets elected, it will be Marcus calling the political shots, not Michelle. Therefore, his views are arguably more important than hers.
I think that people who speak with their Rabbi, or Priest, etc. is much different than going to a Doctor.

My feeling, as a medical professional, is that gay/lesbian etc. is a genetic trait. It is Not possible to "change" gay to "straight". It is a true shame that there are people in the world who continue to think that being "gay" is a "choice.
