I was so frustrated about the economy I couldn't sleep. Ya' know we had a balanced budget the last time a Democrat was president. The Republicans shouldn't be talkn' trash about who got us into this mess. Congress has a job to keep this country running and reputable. They need to be doing that job. This is one country. Failure will effect ALL of us. Not just the poor and middle class.
As the administration and congress continue to fight over a budget and debt ceiling, why are they not personally helping to save money? They want voters to feel the pain and shoulder the blame but they themselves have done basically nothing ona personal level. As congressmen are payed around 175,000$ per year, do you not believe that all 435 congressmen could volluntaraly give up $75,000 per year? That would still leave them with a yearly income of $125,000 per year! That is still way more than they are worth, and the $75,000 times 435 would save a lot of debt. Is there any chance that these politicians will give up something like these salaries for the rest of us? We, the voters, have a better chance of seeing Santa Claus on the 4th. of July!
The President did the right thing today in his news conference. The Republicans are sabotaging this economy. The people needed to know who are playing around as if this is no big deal. How can anyone want the poor and middle class to pay, but the filthy rich pays nothing. This makes no sense. I stand with the President, because there ought to be no reason why this debt ceiling couldn't be taken car of. Unless the Republicans want the country to fall apart.
