Casey Anthony's defense winding down: Join the Live Chat
George Anthony broke down in tears today on the witness stand as he testified about trying to take his own life after the remains of his granddaughter Caylee were found. Tonight on AC360°, Martin Savidge has the latest in the Anthony trial which looks like it is close to wrapping up in the coming days.

How can Casey Anthony not take the stand, she's a witness to a crime (so the defense says)?

Casey Anthony should have stand for court her behalf without her parents.
Hi Nancy, i haven't a clue what to expect. It seems to me that in order for the defense to prove it's "abuse" allegations, she would have to be on the stand.
On the other hand, it seems as if the defense feels that it has created "reasonable" doubt.
There will be an appeal without a doubt if the jury finds her guilty.
What a mess that Casey Anthony trial.....very sad. I can't comprehend any of it.

IIt's pretty easy to see that Casey is primarily just pissed off that her parents aren't standing up for HER and lying for her when they probably always took her side when she was growing up. She can't imagine that her dad especially would let her take the fall for killing her child since of course Caylee is already dead and SHE isn't. In her state of mind, it's like "what good can it possibly do NOT to take my side." She doesn't understand in her psychopathic mind that what she has done in taking their grandchild from them is unforgiveable–even for her–their daughter.

It is interesting that Casey would frequently leave her daughter with her father while she went off to pretend she was at work, yet she alleges he molested her from a young age. Hmmm.
How would Casey be expected to look at George when he is "breaking" down on the stand if the defense's therory is true? How can the media say what George would or wouldn't do? Do they really know him? I am disappointed that Baez did not show more of George's lies about his gas cans and duct tape that is evident in his deposition for the state in July 2009.

Is it possible that many huge businesses and corporations are withholding reinvestment in our economy so more jobs could not be created BECAUSE they don't want this President to be re-elected? They are making billions of dollars, pay almost nothing, but are truly the most selfish people I am aware of. There are exceptions but not many.

Hi Nancy, i agree with you. The family, as they have been represented in the media & courtroom are a confusing and dysfunctional lot. I don't know who to believe either.
It is a very sick family but it is hard to tell where the sickness has come from. Cindy is a huge enabler and all seem to be codependent. Sexual abuse is highly questionable with what we know now. Casey is not protecting anyone in the family but herself...she is trying to punish all of them with her actions. Whether first degree murder or aggravated child abuse, the result needs to be the same.

We, the USA, need to cut rediculous spending, & raise taxes.
Taxes have been really low for almost a decade now. It has not improved or created jobs. So low taxes do Not work.
And, real cutting of not only the rediculous spending, but programs that are going to pinch the public.

I agree with you, Good point. We don't have to cut our taxes spreading in the country...... I don't like what Republicans have change our plan for help people to hire jobs or people willing retire their jobs.
Alienate the Rushpublicans? They already hate him, call him every name in the book and have pledged to obstruct him at any cost. They will never come around and negotiate in good faith for the American people, the Rushpublicans are only interested in their own wealth and catering to their corporate masters.
I did not buy the grandfather performance because he was sending his daughter up the river. I believe he is not tell the truth. He is an ex- police office. He knows how to handle lawyers and jurors. He should have gotten a "Oscar" award for that performance. If I had a "Leroy" award, I would not give it to him.
I cannot buy almost anything anyone in that family says. I don't think there is just one tangled up person in that group. They all seem so very convoluted.
