Glad to see Bachmann admit the mis-statements. I grew up in Iowa and think it would be much easier of a mistake to make than perceived. John Wayne was born in WINTERSET, IA (another W). John Wayne Gacy lived in WATERLOO for only 3 years (1967 – 1970). She would have been pretty young (under 10?). I chalk it up to the uninformed speech writer. Regardless, Bachmann owns what she says. Glad to see her political actions and views more of "the talk" today than the mis-statements.
What disturbs me the most is how we have become a society that no longer values facts: actual facts, and people like Michelle Bachmann are given credibility in the news media, and therefore in the public's eye. This woman is dangerous. Never underestimate the power of stupid.
She'll be under the spotlight again.
And we were worried about Sarah Palin! Michele Bachmann's candidacy for the future leader of our country is nauseating. How dare a woman elect herself to be in charge of matters such as women's rights when she does not even agree with the definition.
