What's wrong with old men marrying young girls? It's all over the Bible...

I could not have given a better RidicuList commentary Anderson! This "lost"guy needs to be roasted over a barbecue pit and this little "Christian"girl who has no clue about the world needs to be grounded and sent to her room. "Cool" parents? What a joke.

AC's commentary on the Courtney Stodden marriage was entertaining, but it also shows, in a mocking way, how our ideas about marriage and the age of spouses has changed radically in the last 100 years. According to Christian legend, the Blessed Virgin Mary was no more than 14 when she married St. Joseph, who was in his 50s. The founder of Québec City, Samuel de Champlain was in his 50s in the early 17th century when he married Hélène Boullé, who was 12 or 14 (the sources vary). In the American colonies, the lower age limit for marriage was 12. In Utah, as recently as the year 2000, the lower limit was 14.

    Hey Anderson,
Re: The marriage between the 52 and 16 year old. Who cares? Is that news-worthy? I didn't see you comment on Hefner, or Michael Douglas etc. Obviously it's idiotic, but it's their business, not news. Funny how the people with
their own abberations are so critical of other people. At least he married a woman. At least, it's a"normal " relationship.
Not "straight' ... normal. Being called "staight" is offensive to me .. I'm normal. Don't put a name on me because you have a problem. I think men marrying men is a lot more ridiculous then then this marriage.

CNN and AC: Having AC comment on what is a politically correct relationship is like having the POPE speaking on behalf of planned parenthood. You having a known homosexual giving the public advice on what is a correct relationship in order to improve his ratings. (Sex sells). The only way that this could happen is if CNN is in bed with AC. I am going to save my time and watch Aljazeera which does report real news.

Anderson, love your satirical comedy bits on the RidicuList segment! You don't miss a beat except for one tiny thing – you sort of go out of character at the end when you are ending off and announcing the break. You go back to your normal, dignified self (which I love too!) whereas I think you should just stay in the comic character you were in. But otherwise – you are hilarious and this is yet another one of your gifts. 🙂

They'll let a 16 year old marry a 51 year old but they won't let a man marry a man or a woman marry a woman? Such crap! Most of today's youth are corrupt on the fact that they think that their first love is forever and as a result throw away their life when they get married. How long is this marriage going to last, 2 weeks? Where are this girl's parents in the equation? If my children in the future tell me they want to get married and they're under 18, I'm putting my foot down because that is down right ridiculous to get married under 25. Like my mother tells me, the 16 year old self isn't the same as the 26 year old self.
