Casey Anthony trial ends early as judge says she's ill

(CNN) - The Casey Anthony murder trial ended an hour and a half early on Thursday, with Orange County Chief Judge Belvin Perry Jr. telling members of the media in the courtroom that Anthony was ill.

Jurors were not told why the trial ended early Thursday, and Perry asked them not to speculate. He said court would be in recess until Friday.

After the jurors left, Perry spoke to members of the media in the courtroom, saying that Anthony was ill and that neither the prosecution nor the defense had any comment on the matter. The judge asked reporters not to question either side about it. The details of Anthony's illness were not given.

During a short break before the announcement, Anthony drank a bottle of water quietly as attorneys spoke together and went back to Perry's chambers, according to In Session's Michael Christian. She was escorted out of the courtroom during the break, then brought back in, but lay her head down on her arms at the defense table. She did not stand as the jurors left the courtroom.

Earlier Thursday, testimony centered on the recovery of the skeletal remains of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, from a wooded area in December 2008. Anthony cried as photographs of the remains were displayed in the Orlando courtroom and avoided looking at the screen where they were displayed.

Anthony, 25, faces seven counts in Caylee's death, including first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and misleading investigators. If convicted, she could face the death penalty.

The toddler's family last saw her on June 16, 2008, but no one alerted police until July 15, when the girl's maternal grandmother tracked down Casey Anthony and demanded answers.

Prosecutors allege Casey Anthony used chloroform on her daughter and suffocated her by putting duct tape over the little girl's mouth and nose. They allege she put her daughter's body in her car trunk before disposing of it. Caylee's skeletal remains were found on December 11, 2008, less than a mile from the home of Casey Anthony's parents.

Casey Anthony has pleaded not guilty and denied having anything to do with her daughter's death. Defense attorney Jose Baez has said that when all the facts are known, it will become clear his client is innocent.

It's a shame Casey doesn't feel well but I know the perfect cure-Chloroform Chowder. Easy to make, easy on the taste buds. Maybe the chef at Casey's jail knows the recipe. I guess you've got to feel some sympathy for someone who murders their own child but never expected they'd have to look at what they did again, in court.

Anderson, ZANNY is Xzanex please tell this story to the world PLEASE! This is an epedimic in this jersey shore, 16 year old mom culture and you have to use this circumstance, this childs life as the evidence, the one time that represents the thousands of Moms that practive this, and many children that risk dieing just for being a life that needs parenting, as in convenient as it may be for the irrisponsible parents that do not deserve the gift of a child. Please Anderson!

Zanny the Nanny is Xzanex! It is well known that party moms give thier children 1/4 portions of xzanex while they party the children sleep for 12-18 hours. This girl OD'd her daughter and came home to find her not breathing. Why the police never put this together is beyond me. Sadly, this happens every single weekend in America, and this was a great opportunity for the media to warn party moms of putting their lifestyle before the health, safety and life of these children that are abused in this way.

Casey was sick today – the same "illness" she had on the day the remains were discovered 3 years ago. Coincidence?

The first sign Casey Anthony may be human was today when she fell ill when they showed pictures of her daughters skeleton and the duct tape she used to take her life. She should be sick and feel that way the rest of her living days!!!!

Good luck Defense Attorney Jose Baez. As we all know, Lawyers WILL SAY ANYTHING to get their clients off! Lawyers have no personal integrity whatsoever. They worship the mighty dollar ABOVE ALL! I don't know how he can sleep at night, but maybe that's the first thing they teach at 'Law School'.

I have watched this story unfold from the first night of Caylee's disappearance when it was introduced on an H L N show 'Nancy Grace' I have watched the search foe Caylee, the arrest of Casey, the sequential re-arrests of Casey, the finding of Caylee's remains, the selection of jury members and finally the actual trial. I am purportedly addicted to the 'Justice for Caylee'. I am appalled at Casey's behavior. Understandably, she is angry (in my belief because she got caught and cannot lie her way out of this) but it is unfair for the jurors and the taxpayers to have to be subjected to her antics, I believe she truly had a breakdown but, she murdered her daughter and had no breakdown during that time, as she was out partying and spending other peoples money and not "looking" for her daughter as she says she was. I say have Physician or a Physician's Assistant around so if anything else should happen to her, she can be treated on the spot so that court may be resumed. She appears to be medicated anyway and is completely in control of her emotions (I say this lightly) under this medication. Personally I wish she would really 'lose it', stand up and shout out that she did it...just to get it out. I have enjoyed watching the trial and hope she is found guilty. I don't think she should get the death penalty simply because sitting in a cell for the rest of her life thinking about what she did to her 2 year old beautiful daughter who did not deserve to have her short lived life taken away from her. Don't give Casey an easy out. And as for her attorny.... One word: HORRIBLE. He may very well be the death of her. (no pun intended)(AT ALL). Thank you.
