Hopefully the judge will not release the IMF treasurer on bail because then it will be another Polanski type case

    May 18, 2011 at 10:41 pm |
  2. Janis

One million in bail money wouldn't pay for all the work needed to get him back if you compare it to the Polanski case.

Polanski again. Yipes, I hadn't thought of that.

The longer Arnold Schwartzenegger's infidelities remain in the news, the more difficult it would be for the loved ones

  6. Lori

We were all hoping for the best when Arnold Schwartzeneger became a public official representing California.

I hope we will not be discussing Arnold Schwartzenegger's infidelities for the next 3 months like Tiger Woods

I hope and pray that Gabby will continue to improve and regain all the function she can. She has already surpassed most expectations. Pretty miraculous.

I'm amazed that the technique of relieveing brain pressure was used by ancient societies too. Science can be so intuitive – got pressure – drill a hole. I'm glad Gabby Giffords is recovering well.

I havent seen any of it and I wont! Its bad enough just reading about it! And I dont even allow myself to do too much of that because what could I possibly do about it! Wars will be fought no matter! Lives will be lost!

Glad to hear that Gabby Gifford could return to Congress. It is amazing that she is alive. Thank you Dr. Gupta.

I am always amazed when it comes to surgery in the skull. It's not something that is done everyday and takes a special type of person to be able to do it!

Its so nice to see Glifford walking around and talking. Its amazing she is even alive.

What about the teenage son of Arnold Schwartzenegger? He's bound to hear or read all of this. I heard AS say it was a 'terrible mistake' defending himself. What does this poor kid caught in the middle think when he hears things like that from his father. Terrible mess for everyone – especially children of the family – all of them.

Good point, Janis. Arnold Schwarzenegger's son is by other woman who is father right now. He already had affair other woman before he marry to Maria Shiver..... Right now, They are divorcing their papers.

      May 18, 2011 at 10:33 pm |
    • Nancy in Oregon

For sure, Janis. Which is exactly what happens in these situations-the children are all dragged into the messes and pains that the 'grownups' got into. No thought given to the children to start with, of course.

      May 18, 2011 at 10:34 pm |
      • Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA

Good point, Nancy..... I agree yours, That is so messy right now both of them.........

    All bloggers,
I don't like what priests cover-up their mouth and abuse sex against teenagers, I agree all of you, I think Pope already invovled too......

  21. Kenya

    @Heather
True. There's been so much cover up I lost trust in the leadership of the Church long time ago. Then turning around and blaming the victims. Sad.

    May 18, 2011 at 10:24 pm |
  22. Paula, Colorado

It doesn't matter what era the abuse is happening in, it is still just preying on the vulnerable.

    May 18, 2011 at 10:23 pm |
    • Nancy in Oregon

Exactly, Paula...and almost no era or no one is in a greater position of power with children than their parents. Just as guilty as the church, too often.

Americans should be ashamed if we do not help Syria. These dictators are nothing more than serial killers in suits, killing their own people. We should consider how lucky we are as we cruise around in our BMW's sipping lattes'. We got rid of Hussein, Bin Laden now this guy should be next.

    May 18, 2011 at 10:22 pm |
    • Nancy in Oregon

Well, I for one do not drive around in a BMW sipping lattes! Far from it! I still feel very lucky to live here-but not for that reason!

      May 18, 2011 at 10:26 pm |
  24. Nina

More than over halls, removal of the top as they are not doing anything about the horrific continued sexual abuse of children

I look forward to AC360 every night to get the latest pictures and comments. I do understand Arabic and listening to the people in the video from Syria one can not tell whose side the snipers are on. They might as well be the armed rebels just as much as they are Syrian soldiers. By the way I am not Syrian.

    Good Evening Everyone! Greetings!

    May 18, 2011 at 10:20 pm |
  27. Heather - Spokane, WA

I hate to say this but the church did cover up all of the abuse cases. It was proven that the current pope was involved in moving the priests that abused kids into other churches. I think it is really sad that things like this happen in a place where you are supposed to be able to trust each other

    May 18, 2011 at 10:19 pm |
    • Nancy in Oregon

It is, Heather, it's so sad. Trust is such a gigantic feature of relationships and once broken, can break so many further links. The chuch, sadly, is not the only place this happens. I wish it were because then there'd only be one area to focus the efforts.

      May 18, 2011 at 10:23 pm |
  28. Lori

Cover up is not good practice. I really think the minor's age is not relevant. Everyone under 18 is a minor.

    May 18, 2011 at 10:18 pm |
  29. Sharon Hastings

That report sounds ridiculous. Just an effort to paint the whole thing in a better light which is just not possible. There certainly is no explanation which would blame social times somehow justifying these crimes against children. Pedophiles gravitated to the preisthood in order to perpetrate. Period.

    May 18, 2011 at 10:18 pm |
  30. Nina

Tthe Catholic church really needs to clean house with this continued sexual child abuse. Unbelievable!!!

    May 18, 2011 at 10:17 pm |
    • Nancy in Oregon

I think all sorts of organizations do...and families.

      May 18, 2011 at 10:19 pm |
  31. Janis

Priests that do these horrible things are child rapists and should be put away or they will do it again. I think some priests may go into the order because they will be around children. God didn't have anything to do with it – they're religious phonies looking for prey.

      Predators for sure.

Murder indeed. Just heartbreaking video. How does anyone let this happen day in & day out. Sanctions and action are needed now.Al-Assad must go. Thank you.

    May 18, 2011 at 10:11 pm |
    • Nancy in Oregon

I do also think the parents of these children bear some responsibility for not keeping them out of gunfight areas. It is appalling to me that children would even be on the street there to start with...what is that about? Are they sending their children out there to make a point?

Thank You Anderson and AC Team for covering Syria. What the government is doing to these innocent people just to stay in power is outrageous.

    May 18, 2011 at 10:09 pm |
  36. Janis

It seems to be a step by step process by the Obama administration. I don't think they want Assaud to stay, I think they may be thinking of not appearing to 'strong arm' a revolution in deference to other arab states wishes that we not interfere in their business.

'Some mistakes' reminiscent of comments made by Nuon Chea regarding the slaughter of fellow Khmer people in Cambodia. Sickening.

    May 18, 2011 at 10:07 pm |
  39. Heather - Spokane, WA

So what does al-Assad consider to be 'mistakes'? So far all I see is intentional actions

Good evening Anderson and everyone. Sanctions are the right thing to do about Syria. Shooting children–just horrible.

    May 18, 2011 at 10:04 pm |

It is, Sharon Hastings, but what are children doing out there to start with?

      May 18, 2011 at 10:05 pm |

I agree. Sanctions is the best first step

      May 18, 2011 at 10:07 pm |
  41. Nancy in Oregon

But what are children doing out there in the middle of gunfire? Surely their parents would not take them out into the line of fire?!
