Reporter's Note: The president works hard. So do I. Plus, I write a letter to the White House every day.
Dear Mr. President,
I can't speak for you, but I've definitely been working too hard lately. Too many hours. Too many late nights. And too many of my precious minutes away from the office tending to business anyway.
It's no way to live.
To be honest, I believe you have actually had more time off in the past two years than I have. You've certainly taken more vacations.
I'm not faulting you, but rather I am faulting myself. I've always believed that too much work, in the long run, degrades the quality of your efforts. So I'm going to try to take it a little easier. Sure, I'm still concerned about the economy, and I'll still do my best on the job; I'm just not going to worry about it so much when I'm off the job
And I'll start by wrapping up today's letter a little early. Ha! I feel better already!
Regards,
Tom
