We're live across the South as people there come to grips with terrible devastation from some of the worst tornadoes in recent memory. Plus, the countdown to the royal wedding. Anderson is in London. We're just hours from the Prince William and Kate Middleton's nuptials.

Does anyone know why they chose to get married on a Friday instead of a Saturday? I would have loved to watch the wedding live but I have a test at school that takes precedence.
Good point question Lily...... They have choose Friday instead Saturday, My brother choose Friday his wedding, they have to choice his decision..........
yeah I don't get it either. I know it's a national holiday in England but they should have know that people worldwide would have wanted to watch it live.
There was a long thing on that where the date actually revolved around all the official commitments of the royal family along with those of the other royal families. It was quite involved what they had to go through to get a date everyone could work with. I don't think William and Catherine had a great deal of "yes or no" in the process.
I downloaded the official program from their site. That will have to do for my invitation LOL I'll be up early
That's a crazy picture of London! People have been camped out for a couple days now!
Oh Anderson, I hope the Prince dropped by to give you the invitation that he overlooked!! LOL
That's devastating.
Oh, so sad about the elderly woman that lived alone. Makes me cry for all. My condolences to all the families who have lost loved ones.
That's a very sad story about those two houses so close together! In one, people survived, in the other, they didn't. 🙁
We get some every year in TX all scary. My son in Waco had to spend almost an hour in the shower the other night as one after another storm with rotations kept going over.
Gosh. Martin Savidge? That voice is SOOOO familiar to my ears. I'm glad to see him on 360. Great!!
He did sound very familiar to me too, Casey. Nice voice isn't it.
Martin Savage flew to South from Japan........ I agree.... He is same person I have seem him since he was in Japan. 🙂
I always ask myself that too, charlie. We all live with (and accept) certain dangers in our choice of where to live, but tornado activity every single year would be far too intimidating to my peace of mind.
I am orginally from phil Campbell on northern Al. The news I am hearing is bad. about 30 dead. Plus nearby Hackleburg has devastaion and many dead. Will you be broadcastin anything from there. I would love some information. I am getting a little by phone and the local paper's website.
Brave woman.
i live in michigan and have been so tired of the snow, i thought it would never end!! then the tornadoe's in the south hit and has been complete devastation. we are so lucky so far here in michigan and i want to send our prayers out to all those families who have been affected by the storms this past week and say i will not complain about our weather again. oh and by the way anderson while you are in england covering the royals wedding can u please ask what happened to my invitation? thanks!!!!!!
Why do people live in tornado states? It must be like playing russian roulette every summer.
Many of those tornado states are in the Plains, where much of our grain/corn/soy bean crops are grown. Also, that's like asking why people live in California with the mudslides and earthquakes, or Florida with the hurricanes. There is nowhere you can live and NOT be threatened by severe weather at some point.
You're right, Mary Beth........ Good point!!!!!!
Good point there question....... Most states have lot of tornadoes, I think they have change weather if you see this tornado, is there warning, No one knows why they did not hear warning so much as well.
Russian roulette – really? I have lived in a "tornado" state all of my life and never been hit, thank God. But that is just like saying why do people live in Cali because of earthquakes. Or why do people live on the coast because of hurricanes. Or why do people live in states that get so much snow and ice – I bet its like russian roulette trying to drive in that stuff.
gotta get a home with one of those safe rooms. wow.
294 deaths. So sad, I've never recalled so many deaths from tornadoes in such a short period of time. This weather is freakish. Is it just because there are more people in these areas in the deep south or what?
God bless their family.
That picture is crazy! Just that one room survives! They are truly lucky!!!
The ongoing efforts at asking is Catherine as good as Diana is unfortunate. They are two different women, living in two different times, marrying two different men.
I agree. I also think she's MUCH more prepared for the craziness! Not a naive 20 y/o!
I think the quality of the guy she's marrying is a huge leap better too.
And Diana had a LOT to do with that! Both boys are pretty well rounded with their feet firmly on the ground.
The trail of devastation, these are times when I am glad that we do pay taxes!
Earlier on, I was not too interested in the Wedding, but this past week it has truly been something uplifting to look forward to for a few hours....albeit, early hours!! It remains to be seen whether I truly get up at 1 AM, esp. on a work day, but I'm going to try to at least be up by 3! I have a pot of tea set up and ready to go. It will be good to see the CNN coverage.
Sounds very cozy...a spot of tea on a cold northwest night watching a real life princess bride. LOL
Bloggers,
True...... I agree with you tonight!!!!! That was so shocking news to see this, bad tornadoes in South!!!!!!!!!! It was so horrible situation!!!!!!
Plenty of loss and devastation. Along with your thoughts and prayers help out financially if you can.
it's times like this that the help of our military with all their logistics and abilities to organize are needed most.
I'm sure state National Guards are or will be mobilized. They definitely have the big equipment to help remove a lot of the damage.
It is just a shame that usuallly the military is used to invade and teroirse other countries.
I'm glad gov't agencies are moving quickly.
Will the Republicans be signing those FEMA checks?
I think so, I am sure of that, FEMA willing to help there also Democrats will take care of it right now.
Sharon Hastings, how grateful you must feel. I'm so glad for you and your family.
Thank you Nancy. Yes our family is very grateful.
Anderson Cooper and I extend our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives because of the tornadoes that have swept through Alabama and the southeastern U.S. Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by this devastation, and we commend the heroic efforts of those who have been working tirelessly to respond to this disaster.
Good evening, people. Are any of the regular posters here in this hard-hit region? Stay safe, if you are. Gosh, what a hard, hard reality to suddenly face. And by the way, where is Rob Marciano throughout this weather stuff? Perhaps I've just missed his reports. (We here in the northwest miss him!)

Those tornados are damaging.

Just when we think our country is moving foward, something like this happens. My heart goes out to them,
Hello everyone. All the tornado footage is amazing. So destructive, I can't believe so many people could take all those videos.
Thankfully my son and his family were spared in Tennessee but in many areas around tornadoes hit and caused horrible damage and deaths. A terrible night for people in the storms and for the rest of us waiting for news.
I'm glad your family was spared as well.
I'm glad for you too, Sharon.
Sharon, I am delighted that your family was spared

Anderson,
Hi! It's great to see you on. I'm looking forward to your coverage from London with the royal wedding only hours away.
It's sad to see the devastation and loss of life after the storms throughout the southern states.
Good evening Anderson and everyone. I cannot believe the devastation in the south. It's very tragic and so many lives lost plus more who are homeless and have lost everything. I don't think some of those towns even have shelters left for people to go to. Prayers for all people affected.
Good evening all
Good Evening Everyone! Greetings!
