Tornadoes Across the South, Death Toll Rises: Join the Live Chat

We're live across the South as people there come to grips with terrible devastation from some of the worst tornadoes in recent memory. Plus, the countdown to the royal wedding. Anderson is in London. We're just hours from the Prince William and Kate Middleton's nuptials.

Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

Is it still the House of Hanover? I always wondered why the lineage started somewhere long in the past. Can they explain the lineage for us?

    April 28, 2011 at 10:52 pm |
    • MaryBeth

No. It's the House of Windsor. George V, Elizabeth's uncle did that. The surname now, is Mountbatten-Windsor, which is Prince Phillip's last name and the royal family's last name. It used to be the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, but due to anti-German feelings during WWI, George V changed it. You can find everything on the royal family's official website.

Good night, people. I'm making sure to go to bed plenty early...so I can attempt to get up by 2 AM! (I doubt it will be 1!) Nice balance of discussion tonight. Thank you. (No more Trump, either!)

Nothing can say better about Diana than Sir Elton's song. She lives on in our hearts.

      She does indeed, Chi.

Boy, does Kate look just like her Mom!!!

I think that's a huge difference-the support of the palace. Being older must help too.

    April 28, 2011 at 10:49 pm |
  15. Lori

I think that Kate is totally different than Diana. The pictures really show an uncertain Diana.

Just heard on another show that Kate, a commoner, will be arriving by car. But will be leaving in a carriage as a Princess! What a fairy tale life.

    April 28, 2011 at 10:48 pm |
    • MaryBeth

Yes, she's arriving in a Rolls belonging to the royal family.

Thankfully on the east coast I don't have to wake up until 4 a.m. to start catching "the wedding". I'm not sure I'll make it. I'm sure there will be a special about it later tomorrow evening. I'm glad "waity Katie" finally gets her Prince. She sure had to wait long enough!

They are a good looking couple, Kenya...and a relief, I must say, in their relative 'normalcy'.

    April 28, 2011 at 10:44 pm |
    • Kenya

      "Normalcy"..yes Nancy, I like that.

This is an interesting conversation between all of the 360 group. High fashion and history...Isha looks lovely, as usual.

It's refreshing, isn't it Chi? Just for diversion for awhile, at the very least. Restorative, I think.

    April 28, 2011 at 10:42 pm |
    • MaryBeth

I agree! Something frivolous to take our minds off the world for just an hour or two. Nothing wrong with that!

      April 28, 2011 at 10:43 pm |
      • Nancy in Oregon

Oh I agree, Mary Beth. I find little 'restorative' moments that are light or beautiful to be as important as recess is to a school child! I try to incorporate them at least once daily!

Every thing to do with the head of state in the UK is like that:
Elegant, and quaintly amusing. No politics whatsoever.
Contrast that with the national embarassment and virulent divison inherent to a presidency as head of state.

      April 28, 2011 at 10:55 pm |
  25. Lori

Thank you Anderson. These Royal traditions are so interesting.

Is there such a thing as an intimate dinner when royals are involved? I'll have to check out their website and see what's on the menu. The British sure know how to live!

One of our nurses at work today said she's getting up at 1 AM to watch the wedding, but she has a terrible worry that something bad could happen. I try not to imagine it.

Mike in TX, so a shower provided some security then? Good to know (I don't live in tornado country though, thankfully.)

    Poor William! Already going bald!

    April 28, 2011 at 10:33 pm |
    • Lori

My dad always told me that baldness was a result of all of the brain activity going on in one's head. Less hair means more smarts.
