Obama's comment in 2009, as a senator, and his actions and views now, are entirely different things. Then, his vote made no difference and the comment was simply political opportunitism. Now, as president, and after leading the country at least 5 trillion further into debt, his promised proposals will tell us all whether he is going to lead or have to be voted out of office in 2012.
As early as a couple of months ago, the Obama 2012 proposed budget had more red ink that the spending in 2011 (with no budget at all).
Virtually every American who is even moderately well informed about the national debt and deficit, fully understands that unless we get it under real control, and do so soon, we may very well not have a country like the one we have now (an economic superpower), but instead will be an economic disaster, and take many others down with us.
Incidently, since this problem, in the eyes of many, is greater than the terroism threat we are fighting two wars over, where is CNN in reporting on the depth and scope of the problem so that the people can make our so-called leader really, truely address it?
