Reporter's Note: Our latest Building Up America tour continues, as does my unbroken string of daily letters to President Obama.
Dear Mr. President,
This has been a less than stellar day. Not sure how it was on your end, but out here on the road it was not-so-much fun.
It started out well. We awoke in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, did some early live shots on the main street, and I enjoyed chatting with some local folks. We’re still on our Building Up America tour, which are always nice in that way, despite the hard work. Then we headed to our next stop, had a generally nice breakfast at a truck stop along the way (Pancakes? Excellent! Grits? Could use some work.) and in Tulsa we had a great visit with the folks at a local aviation school.
But then things devolved. It was already chilly, and the rain started picking up, which is always something of a hassle when you are working out of a bus. Then we had a string of those annoying phone calls that are really about pretty much nothing, but still have to be dealt with…like the calls you probably get from Biden. Ha! Then we had logistic troubles, some technical issues, the work hours started getting away from us; and now here I am sitting on the bus in the rain, in the dark, in a parking lot near downtown wondering, once again, when we might be done with everything tonight.
