Anserson,
It is horrible to see those killings but sadam husaain did the same in Iraq and George Bush and Tony Blair did the same killing thousand of innocent Iraqis. Didin't they?
Thank you for your efforts to convey the Message about the misary that we are living in, not now but from 42 years ago.
please I want to ask: how can I send videos to the program?
thank you.
Why can't our government do what us as American's would do, and rid Libya of this reckless and disgusting tyrant? No one deserves to go through what the Lybians are going through. This is BS its all about our governments interest, well I say put our interest aside and stop the unecessary killing that is happening.
Hola Anderson,
I am currently living in Barcelona, Spain and absolutely appreciate all that you and your team are doing to cover these heartbreaking stories in Libya. I am moved by this courageous woman who is risking it all in order for the world to learn the truth. Please assure her that the world is listening and that her stories are discussed among families, friends and at my school. We support this brave woman on the phone and all the courageous men, women and the youth fighting for their rights. We wish for a better day for all of Libya.
Gracias,
Karen
Now that the Justice Minister says he has proof that Gaddafi personally ordered the bombing of Panam flight 103, shouldn't we be sending troops to Libya to capture him and bring him to Justice? This will be so much better than sanctions against libya, for which he really does not care about, why are we wasting time? It wont be long before he kills the entire 5 million population. After all we did get Noreiaga, didn't we! People are being killed by the minute and if we do not act fast the population of libya could well be reduced by more than half, surely we have jurisdiction to bring a killer of American people to justice.
Anderson, I would like to nominate the women from Tripoli you speak with every night on the phone as a CNN Hero. Every night she risks her life and the life of her family. In her voice we've heard her dignity, her joy, her fear, her grief, her anguish, and her pleadings for help from the outside World. Through her voice we hear all the Libyan people.
You and CNN reporters on the ground and in neighboring countries give excellent reporting but this women puts a voice on humanity's desire to be free. She reminds us every night that freedom is a basic right which we (the free) sometimes take for granted. She reminds us that freedom comes at a price.
One that she and the Libyan people are willing to pay to be free of a mad man and to live free with dignity.
I applaud her courage and wish for her safety. And when this is over and people have prevailed, I hope that you will interview this women and put a face to this voice in the night.
Regarding "Libyan woman issues a cry in the night." Why was there no telephone delay between the woman and Mr. Anderson during the telephone inteview?
Anderson: Am mesmerized by the live telephone exchange with the woman in Libya. As I listen, I keep thinking: What's wrong with US?? This is not 1940; it's all here right before our eyes, captured by cellphone video. Now that the Americans have finally departed on the ferry, perhaps we can DO something meaningful?
BTW, I am very glad to see Prof. Ajami on your show. In my opinion he was the best Arab scholar 25 years ago, and still is. We are lucky to have him over here.
Keep up the good work. You're my favorite liberal!
Heart wrenching, I can't stop thinking about it. When are is the international community going to do something about this genocide?
After listening to Anderson Cooper's conversation with the Libyan woman; it seems that something needs to happen to help the Libyan people stranded in Tripoli now rather than later. Talk of sanctions, etc. are not going to help these people today or tomorrow. A "no fly" zone needs to be implemented immediately to stop the "soldiers" that Ghadaffi is flying in to kill his people. Isn't their some way for someone to assist the opposition in the fight for Tripoli.
Anderson, thank you for caring about the Libyans.
My parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors are there. They are all suffering just being prisoners in their own homes. No food, no medicine and no doctors. I am so scared for them.
Please, please keep reporting, maybe Obama or Clinton or someone will have a heart before thousands more will be killed.
Thank you Anderson, and may Allah continue to bless you.
Heartbreaking. None of us can imagine the type of oppression they have lived with on a daily basis for their entire lives. I pray for them and hope they continue to have courage to fight and stand up for their freedom.
To the lady on the call, we really do sympathize and support the Libyan people, but as a nation we are helpless as a people to assist you.
Its incredible to see how effected anderson cooper is by all this up rising in north africa. I walked into the room as the tv was on and saw the expresion on his face as he was listening to the lybian woman speak.
Why isnt the un there, where is the us military? I am a little nobody & i have never trusted kadafi. I have never been able to even look at his face. Wake up people!
I heard the young lady speaking in the night and realize that each one of us American women and other women around the world cannot individually step in and save her. We can reach out by responding and tell her that she is not alone in this dark place and that we send prayers of light. When our daughters cry in the night, we answer with love. We cannot promise answers, we cannot promise everything will be alright, but we can promise that we will be witness to what the Libyan struggles are during these times. Thank you Anderson for giving her a voice! A cry in the night is often given an answer in the morning, and that will be my prayer as I go to sleep tonight.
Now this is the time The US needs to go in and help and stop worrying about their own financial interest human live is more important isn't it?
I think the change that is happening across the Arabic region is a caused affect from your pass election when democratic finally work
i am sad, sleepless, stressed, hurt, puzzled, about the situation overseas it is way too much for anyone to handle. the lady has been stuck in her house for over 5 days and nothing has been done to help her or the country.people have been killed for expressing their thoughts. PLEASE HELP THEM......america does have problems but nothing to that extreme. we have economic issues, job issues even homeless issues. so PLEASE!PLEASE!PLEASE!!! HELP THE COUNTRY. As americans we always help so don't stop now we are a free country.other countries wish and desire to be like us regardless of what they say we are the free, the proud so pleas help them pkleas that is all i'm asking they need us right now not later. don't forget babies are dying, mothers, fathers, sons daughters, nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, foster children..so don't talk about it be about it................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is heartbreaking to listen to this woman's plea. When bad things happen to good people its a crime for the world to watch and not do anything about it.
One of the most sincere and dignified individuals I have ever heard on television. What would our world look like If only our leaders would reflect her genuine character and courage? I pray our President was listening. How could anyone be fearful of a future populated by youth such as this?
I am grateful CNN and you Mr Cooper are trying to give reports about and from Libya. We are watching because we fear for those caught in the terror.
There is one correction though of your pronunciation of the town of Sebha. It is Sebha not Sabah. I have family that is from there.
Again thank you so much for your reporting.
Chilling and powerful reporting from the brave unnamed woman in Tripoli. For days now she has boldly challenged Ghaddafi's armada of hired killers, armed with nothing but her words. I fear that she may become the Kitty Genovese of our time and that our leaders - Obama, Cameron, Berlusconi, Merkel, Sarkozy - will be the neighbors who watched the slow murder and listened to the screams and did nothing.
The Bush Administration repeated "madman Saddam Hussein" ad nauseum, where are the right winger's outrage at this obvious lunatic?
If we don't go help these people, go ahead and take the shores of tripoli out of our anthem–7 year Marine
Listening to the message of the frantic woman
to Anderson Cooper made me very scared !! Who are going to help these people?! they need help right now, they are being butchered, they are helpless
they have NO protection!!!THIS IS GENOCIDE !!
I am doing the only thing I can do TO PRAY !!
What is our government doing at the moment?
The other nations, are they turning their back
to these human beings?
HELP, HELP PLEASE!!
Once you have played the woman's despair on your channel, please distribute it to every channel and every politician. Perhaps former President Clinton can speak to Obama about what it will be like if he sits back and watches another genocide like Rwanda.
Hearing this women was so amazing and yet so tragic to hear what's going on in Libya. I'm only 20 years old, but this women has touched me for so many reasons. As I hear her, I just wish I could help her. I wish I could in any way assist her and assist Libya. It's heartbreaking to me that I can't do anything, and even more that she's right. Now I don't want to jump and say nations are doing nothing (it's not an easy situation) but it's so horrible to think that while I type this, this women is in fear, sad, and in hiding. That she has risked her life to even just say what she did. My heart isn't the only thing to go out to her: my soul will.
I don't know if you Anderson will read this, or not but if it does come to you, please tell this women that there are people praying for her, and for Libya. That she has touched me (and hopefully many others) the same. I can't even begin to describe how sad I feel and how badly I wish I could swoop in and help them.
But I will pray for her, and for Libya. This is just so heartbreaking.
I just want to say thanks for the continuous coverage about Libya. I know you've gotten complaints from people saying they are tired of hearing about it. Not Me. Though I can in no way really understand what these amazing people must be going through, I feel deeply for what they are experiencing and want them to know that people do care. I am only one small voice, but I do care and am hoping and praying for an end to the madness they are living through.
It is clear that we have sold our soul to the devil for oil.We need to wake up!
This just keeps snowballing. Now its Libya. Mr. President, can you do something to help save the people of Lybia and take out Ghadafi? Too many people are being killed for just wanting change. Remember, when we were trying to get you elected, your campaign slogan was CHANGE THAT WE CAN BELIEVE IN an YES WE CAN! You're the man, the most powerful man in the world. SAVE THESE PEOPLE. Only you can do it. Stand up and show the world that we care, that our president cares, and we're going to do whatever it takes to stop the killing and give these people a taste of what freedom really is,

I am appalled at the lack of response from Obama & our government & as usual the UN will talk this to death. Listening to the plea from this courageous woman who, even under such dire circumstances, remained clear, concise and so courteous, made me ashamed of how unwilling our government is to step up to the plate and practice what we preach. The Libyans deserve our support, at least humanitarian if nothing else. However, since we seem incapable of even getting out our own people (unlike all the other countries) I guess it just shows how incapable and naive this current government is in dealing with global crises. I cannot understand why we haven’t moved aircraft carriers into the area, as we have always done in the past during times of unrest. Here is our opportunity to do some good – shame on us and Europe, if we fail to help the Libyan people. My heart and prayers go out to this woman, her family and all the Libyans so bravely fighting for their freedom.
I listened to the Woman speak from Tripoli tonight and I can only say that I have not been so ashamed to be an American since I left Vietnam and arrived home. We sit on our thumbs and let these people die? Establish a no fly zone, send in some gunships and soldiers and encircle the city, inform the mercinaries that it is time to decide whether they want to leave or die. Clear out the ratsnest and turn it over to the Libians.
Good Grief give me a gun and a ticket and I will go and give my own life for their cause. At least it would be worth giving my life for, unlike Vietnam.
I continue to view CNN to follow the story of the inspirational woman hiding in her home in Tripoli. I admire her bravery and courage in spite of the killing and lunacy that surrounds her. I pray she remains strong because she is one of the few Libyan voices who touch the outside world. Thank you Anderson for your compassion to the suffering of the Libyans. I also truly admire Fouad Ajami and his political analysis. Please continue to keep us informed!
As a former Marine I would like to tell this young lady that her courage has not fallen on deaf ears. The American people are with her in our thoughts and prayers and Marines everywhere blood boils as we watch this madman still rampaging! Remember " From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli" We would all join this brave young lady in her struggle if possible "Semper Fi"
Doesn't the refusal of Libyian officials to allow the US to land planes, tell you something about how much they hate us...? All the other countries are allowed in. What's going on...?
Agree with your tweet about Fouad. He is amazing and I always learn something. Please have him on often!
