Tonight, people are standing up to their repressive governments peacefully and being beaten, teargassed and gunned down in the streets. We have new images and chilling accounts from Bahrain and new video smuggled out of Libya. What the governments are saying doesn't match with the facts. We're Keeping Them Honest. Also tonight, what Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is going through on her amazing road to recovery. 360 M-D Sanjay Gupta walks in her footsteps and more.
Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.
Here are some of them:
1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

I agree, Karyn. I would rather see a Kaplan family, sad as that is, than see another child maimed or killed. Err on the side of life.

Thank you Anderson and the AC360° Team, for all of the important and thought provoking news stories that you bring to us... Good Night, Everyone!!
Betty, probably because studying 'the facts' takes time...and time can be exactly what injures more children. The time taken to do the 'studies' can be critical. That's the sad truth. I think the authorities often err on the side of keeping the child safe and alive.
Good night everyone.
Be strong Libya, Bahrain, Yemen, Algeria and Iran. We are watching.
Great show Anderson and AC360 staff. Thank you.
Beautiful sunspot pictures!!
Jo Ann, you're a multi-tasker being able to listen to music, the tv, and study all at once! 😀 Good night everyone.
Are there no other solutions than to come to the home at 1:00 a.m. with two police escorts, lights flashing? I understand that if it was indeed abuse, then what, but I think all too often we rush decisions not based on fact.
I can't stand to see any animal suffering. BP show pay and pay and pay!
Good night AC360 Team and fellow bloggers.
Great show tonight Anderson.
@Adam,,Stay strong and have faith that your family is OK.
I am in Libya at the moment and I'm just wondering how long will it take for international attention. It's 6am in the morning and I can hear gun fire and helicopters hovering over Tripoli.We don't have much access on the internet; youtube and facebook groups have been blocked. We got sms messages from the government telling us not to cross the "4 red lines." We are terrified.
@Nancy: Tough calls but I would rather be sued to be wrong, than to see another child die
The hour went by quickly. Great program tonight, Anderson!
Imagine how you would feel to have your twins taken away from you when you know you are innocent of any abuse. I can't imagine how that would feel. Social services frequently come under fire for a lack of action with tragic results so maybe they err on the side of caution.
@ emily
thanks for the info re Biden.
@Adam,
I hope that your family is safe in Benghazi. At least they live there and are not visiting so they do have a home. (trying to look in the bright side). Thoughts are with you & your family.
Yes, Starr, that's just it-families have been wounded but children have also died. Even children in 'nice' families.
What a show! It seems you have a new attitude Anderson. You Rock! So does Randi Kaye! Thank you and stay safe~ XO
Don't most states require care givers to report cases involving POSSIBLE child abuse to state authorities or be held liable themselves? Ours does and I have worked several jobs where I was required to do that. Investigations are often done by overworked and undereducated people and experts are not always available at the initial evaluation.
It seems to me that the injuries would look totally different in the case of shaking verses a bump on the head from a fall.
Why didn't the agency place the children in the home of a family member?
@Starr: I agree with you ...
" "Experts" are not always right. On the other hand, it can be quite difficult to determine and some children have died based on more cursory investigations."
Tough call but I believe that the child's safety is always of the utmost importance.
