Welcome to our 3rd annual Golden Globes Live Blog. I'm your host and, in case you're wondering, my qualifications include once meeting Ricky Gervais at the Chateau Marmont and working for several years in a video store/tanning parlor.
I'll be with you from 8pm Eastern Time until the conclusion of the East Coast telecast. Now, to be clear, we're not advocating changing your channel from CNN. But if you're going to watch the Golden Globes anyway, you might as well watch them with us as your running commentary. And frankly, you don't even need to be watching the Golden Globes to enjoy the live blog.
Disclaimer: I'm sure some of these movies/TV shows are connected to CNN through our parent companies Turner Broadcasting and Time Warner. HBO, Warner Brothers and New Line Cinemas are just a few of our high-profile sister companies. But seeing as how another year has gone by and I've not gotten so much as a free hat or poster, I'm not in the tank for anyone. Except for Betty White. Not that she's even nominated. I'm just in the tank for her in general.

If you want to take part in our Live Blog (and we hope you do) keep in mind that you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.
Here are some of them:
1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst – and that includes $#&*)
Anderson Cooper goes beyond the headlines to tell stories from many points of view, so you can make up your own mind about the news. Tune in weeknights at 8 and 10 ET on CNN.

I agree, loved the west wing.
Aaron Sorkin....I miss West Wing
Really surprised Inception isn't winning anything, truly one of the best movies I've ever seen!
so i hear the social newtork is a really good movie yet i don't have any urge whatsoever to watch it.
Aaron Sorkin is a genius. The first few seasons of The West Wing are classic.
I heart Tina Fey 🙂
ok, the guy in the bathroom with the fake teeth must have sat Ricky down – he has not been the same since
Tina Fey and Steve Carell are so hilarious together!
No Steve. It NEVER gets old. I laughed.
Wait, why isn't Steve Carell hosting this show?
uncomfortable.....
What happened to Zac Efron's hair?
Tom Hanks just totally checked out Claire Danes' back catalog
The Temple Grandin TED talk:

Jack we're listening to Single Ladies without you.
Boring...I don't know half these people or films or tv shows. Guess I just came for the fashions....a bit disappointed so far.
Has Ricky been censored already – DH is good tonight. Thankful for FIOS!
Oh good. Jennifer Aniston has a rom-com coming out.
I wasted space on my DVR for this. Its kinda boring. Love Angelina fixing Brads bowtie
Anyone else bored? Think I'll check back in about an hour
I've met Temple, she's quite a character
I consider the lack of snark on this live blog a sad result of how boring this show is.
In those moments when they "lose sound" for censorship, I make up my own curse words.
if you've never seen Temple Grandin's talk at the TED Conference...look it up, it's probably online somewhere.
Am I the only one who laughed that Pacino thanked "girlfriend" and not by name? Something you obviously can get away with when you're, you know, Al Pacino.
Also, fwiw, Tilda Swinton needs to say "Uuuuurth" more often
There's Temple Grandin, all dressed up and ready for a rodeo
Im with you, Jack. "Scent of a Woman", among many others, is a tour de force. And who the heck was that hugging Claire Danes just now?
yay!!!!!!! huge win for Claire! huge win for Autism Awareness!!
Are they afraid to play off Al Pacino? He talked way too long without music.
Al is amazing. I mean...14 nominations and 5 wins? Who else can say that? I doubt even Meryl can top that.
This is boring, time to watch Housewive's of Beverly Hills, where is Camille, I need comedy. I don't get British comedians?
Husband has just declared Tilda Swinton "post-human." That is in no way a dig.
Jack – you got good taste man!
The seating at the Golden Globes is horrible! Why are the award recipients having to walk through a maze of tables?
What or who is Tilda Swinton wearing? Mistake.
Al Pacino is one of the greatest actors of our time. He's picked a few odd movies over the years but he is a living legend. Love that guy.
Tilda Swinton reminds me of a bleached out La Roux. Maybe La Blanche?
Ricky Gervais is KILLING it! Love it... Also – RDJ did an amazing job presenting...
I love Al – glad he won!
Why is David Bowie in a dress? Oh, wait that's Tilda Swinton.
take that back – Idris is looking delectable
Oh my Tilda... again, the jokes write themselves people.
sylvester is looking delicious
Am I the only one who wants Sylvester Stallone to make Stop or My Mom Will Shoot 2?
Sly Stone... the jokes write themselves people
question – why does everybody pick on Hef. I would marry him in a sec
I love Angelina and Brad snuggled...seem like a real couple.
so far, Robert Downey Jr. has been the best presenter...and Annette Bening the best winner, for her use of the phrase "our awesome sperm donor" in her speech.
Warren Beatty is the man.
If there is a crazy male equivalent to Helena Bonham Carter it is Al Pacino, he's all kinds of crazy too
