Falling birds likely died from massive trauma

CNN Wire Staff

(CNN) - The thousands of birds that fell from the sky just before midnight New Year's Eve in Arkansas likely died from massive trauma, according to a preliminary report released Monday.

The birds - most of which were dead when they were found - were red-winged blackbirds and starlings, and they were found within a one-mile area of Beebe, about 40 miles northeast of Little Rock, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said.

Keith Stephens, a spokesman for the commission, said the birds showed evidence of trauma in the breast tissue, with blood clots in the body cavity and a lot of internal bleeding. All major organs were normal.

He cited a preliminary report conducted by the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission.

"Further tests will be done to rule out other causes, but the birds suffered from acute physical trauma leading to internal hemorrhage and death. There was no sign of any chronic or infectious disease," the report said, according to the game and fish commission.

As of Saturday, between 4,000 and 5,000 birds had been found dead, said Stephens.

My guess is some sort of gas in the air. Birds have uni-directional breathing, vs. tidal breathing like humans, and are therefore much more sensitive to changes. Hence the "canary in the coal mine" low tech solution to the presence of gas.

If others are saying there is gas drilling in this area, there may have been a release of gas in this region.

You learn something new everyday in your business – right, Anderson?

although we won't find anyone to admit it but I think that Chemtrails had something to do with the massive bird and fish deaths. it was sudden and at night. Many of the chemtrail spraying is done at night. This spray is toxic, and contain Manganese. the government wants us to believe, fireworks, lighting,or hail were the cause, American people are smarter than that. The government or military are going to hope this all blows over before it gets anymore attention. the bottom more than one person knows what happen..... P.S.today, over 500 of blackbirds and starlings fell out of the sky in New Roads, Louisiana. Chemtrails makes sense.....

I wasn't buying into the fireworks theory until I saw that "American" fireworks are made in China. Maybe the explosive part was just part of the problem.

I think it is very dangerous to speculate on what caused the death of these birds and fish. It would be wiser to say the cause is unknown because should this happen again, people will panic.

Good morning, after reading the book of Extraordinay facts, on page 158, it states:
"After a tornado killed migrating ducks at a migratory bird refuge, it rained dead ducks 40 miles away". Maybe the birds were migrating and got caught in the tornado that happened in Arkansas?

The bird can not eat those bad crab apple or bad frozen barry;s Previous winter in my garden bird;s use to come on my trees to eat them but, this winter no bird can eat them because they are bat soft and turn soft and black.

I say someone's been secretly raising birds and toxified the water in order to execute this strange series of events. Strange way to commit social terrorism.

Has anyone considered problems @ Arkansas Nuclear One Power Plant in Russellville? Nuclear One and Lake Dardanelle boarder the Arkansas River...do they not? Could there not be contamination...that perhaps we, the public, are not being informed of? (Hazmat suits for clean-up makes me suspicious of that...). Something to think about...?

The only equipment that can cause this trauma to Birds and Fish would be UFO's traveling in the area. The forces of the equipment used can cause internal bleeding with no evidence of any exterior markings. Many UFO's sighted in this part of the Arkansas region in the past.

The birds have trauma because they have tine bone and when 3 ounces of black bird falls from 79 feet they break.. poor little creatures . humans to blame.

Birds-More than likely the town is afraid of
    citizens getting the disease "Histoplasmosis"
and someone sprayed the town with the soap-like
substance –in cold weather it causes them to
freeze to death. And of course no one is going
to admit to this, for enviromental purposes.

The trauma is internally. Major blod clots and hemorrhaging is from poison gas. Wake up people, Beebe Arkansas is home to a major gas waste recycling operation!!!

Arkansas is on a fault line(i.e. they do have diamond mines), additionally Indiana just had an earthquake days ago. There could be chemicals or gases released into a common drinking or eating source from the fault lines that lie in Arkansas to Indiana.

This could be a biological event caused by fault lines or doormant Volcanoes in Arkansas up to Indiana.

I wonder if this isn't part of the bigger warning other civilizations have tried to help us understand that the world we exist in is cyclical, even over thousands or tens of thousands of years...

,,up to 5,000 birds, without any noticeable storm around, it will definitely due to release of toxic gas into the air.fireworks happened everywhere and we've been doing that for centuries

Wouldn't we have major trauma issues if we fell out of the sky? On pavement? On hard ground? If it was fireworks or lightning where are the burn marks? Why only the blackbirds? If poisoned, no others affected? Same with the fish. Only one kind of fish? Smells fishy to me.

@Les – is there gas drilling nearby?

Over 100,ooo fish dead in the same area; over 5000 birds fall from the skies; the birds got killed from trauma suffered during the fire works. What Anderson if any, killed the fishes ?

we are looking at terror against animals, yet we are pretending that we know an arsonist if we see one, but we cannot find a person who hates animals.

@Michael – gas yes, from earthquakes, no. Beebe is home to gas waste recycling. These birds died from poison gas as a direct result of gas drilling.

While roosting in the trees the cold air retracted the gas back to earth and the birds were gassed to death in flight trying to escape .

These birds and fish are dieing from escaping gases because of earth quakes in this area .

Massive trauma from what I wonder. If they hit a plane I would think the pilot would notice – the plane might even have trouble. Fireworks? Hail? Must have been a lot of either to get this many birds all in one swoop. Will be interesting if anyone figures out what happened.

I Think that what happened in arkansas is wierd. but i know that fireworks did not do this to the birds . Its has to be something else . They need to look more in to it . And the fish to ? Maybe there is something going on that they dont what us to know? I think maybe its the goverment. Thank you very much.

Really? REALLY? Because today, over 500 of blackbirds and starlings fell out of the sky in New Roads, Louisiana. I suppose they were traumatized by some of today's sun's rays in Pointe Coupee parish.
