Washington (CNN) - A compromise bill to provide free medical treatment and compensation to first responders of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack won final approval Wednesday from the House and Senate, sending it to President Barack Obama to be signed into law.
The bill passed on a voice vote in the Senate, and then passed on a 206-60 vote in the House on the final day of the lame-duck session of Congress.
Jubilant Democrats hailed the last-minute approval as a triumph for firefighters, police officers and other emergency personnel who put themselves in harm's way to help others in the aftermath of the 2001 terrorist attack.

CNN and AC 360 you just do not get it do you!?
If this was a lame duck session, I am totally confused!
This LAME DUCK was flying on its migration away from the Republican House "only" majority in the New Year and legislatively speaking covering thousands of miles!!
Despite the enormous achievements here with the help of a few Republicans you still could not change "lame duck" to "Bipartisan votes(ing) on many issues.
You and media like you can only propogate division because you believe its more newsy than harmony and peace.
Believe me there is nothing in this world more important to Mr and Mrs average than to hear an awful lot more about peace and harmony rather than war and division wherever that takes place.

Hodgson.
