Reporter's Note: President Obama is taking part in various holiday festivities. So am I…uh when I’m not writing letters to the White House.
Dear Mr. President,
You and I will be at a party together tonight! What fun! I’m talking about the Christmas in Washington concert which my family and I attend every year. It’s always nice to see you (or whoever is president at the time) and to listen to the big name musical acts. I hope nothing comes up that keeps you away, because I know a lot of folks would be disappointed.
That said, I suppose that’s true for any event that any president is ever expected to attend. You are pretty much always going to be the “star” in the room. So like I said, I hope you make it.
I mentioned some days ago that we were not terribly much in the Christmas mood yet this year, but I think that is improving a bit. We’ve been playing some of our favorite Christmas tunes at home - Shouldn’t Have Given Him a Gun for Christmas, December is for Cynics, Fairytale of New York. You should have seen my wife rocking out to Christmas in Hollis.
