More drug tunnels? The crazy things people will for money and drugs.
You hit the nail on the head Casey!
Sen. McCain said there was still a study going on regarding DADT. Yet I heard today that the study has been completed. This has been going on for a long time. I don't understand,,Are they starting a new study or just sitting on the answer?
I agree, Sen. McCain has been all over the place on DADT. He is a maverick no more.
The time has come for equal civil rights for All Americans who are working, paying taxes, and especially those who are willing to put themselves in harm's way.
@Samantha, TN – thank you for your post, legalizing pot is a controversial issue. But i believe it would solve a lot of border problems with the violence and cartels.
@Gloria,
I think that it's the "attitude" (in anyone) that is a turn off.
I hope the Senate votes for the repeal. I agree that the time for this has come and I hope congress will do the right thing.
WHY are we wasting money on DADT, etc., etc., etc?
PLEASE get this everyone...gay men are not interested in soliciting or having sex with straight men (that's what our government is suggesting here). For anyone who is trying to assert otherwise, is simply homophobia and/or bigotry. It's personally insulting to suggest ANY GLBT person would do anything to put another person in harms way for the sake of having sex or assert an unwanted advance. That ludicrous and just plain stupid.
I do not mind them serving, but don't come with no attitude!
Wow. I didn't realize they had studied DADT 22 times! :-O Overturn it already.
Kenya & Heather – Spokane, WA
Good question....... There will be year or months, they knew what looking for drug dealer, I think.
How does your sexual preference affect how you serve in the military? I still have yet to hear a reason that gays and lesbians should not be in the military.
@Starr, thanks, I hate driving in snow and my dog loves eating it 🙂
what will happen to this tunnel in the future?
Good evening Anderson, 360°Team, Jo Ann, David, Megan, Nancy, Nicole, Gloria, Casey, Starr, & Bloggers!
There sure is alot of passion around DADT!
The Joint Chiefs routinely support the President's positions in Congressional testimony. They follow orders.
DADT needs to go. It is an unneeded and discriminatory relic from the past.
Secretary Gates and President Obama are correct. DADT needs to be overturned. It's 2010 for crying out loud.
I wonder how many of these tunnels are out there along the border. On top of the wikileaks and so many people who would love to bring America to it's knees,,our country sure has it's hands full of security issues to deal with.
It's not surprising that the Joint Chiefs support Obama's policy. They work for him.
I have heard of NO GLBTG act as a "predator", especially in the service.
That is Not what they are there for, they are trying to serve their country!
I am gratified by the report and the agreement from Sec. Gates and all other military leaders.
It was no more than luck that they found this... just think how much drugs are coming in that we have not had luck with.
It is difficult to believe that a tunnel of this magnitude and sophistication could be built without being detected by authorities for so long.
I agree, Hellen and Libby...... That was so bad there in tunnel, there was many drugs to hide where that place to smuggle these drugs.
Those tunnels get more and more sophisticated.
The tunnel finding is all well and good, but I still would like to see them confiscate the hard drugs and let's legalize the pot and get that revenue here. I think it is alot less harmful than alcohol and cigarettes.
@Sue Canton
You make an excellent point about how these tunnels could be used to transport terrorists into the US-very scary thought.
@Heather-Spokane WA – Wow, it does sound like you're going to break a record on snow fallfor your area-my heart goes out to you, iknow what it's like to deal with-stay warm.
From the looks of this, I think this tunnel is used for more than just drugs
I wonder how long/how much manpower it took to dig out this tunnel. Very interesting.
Starr, Arizona just passed an amendment for dispensing medical marijuana, joining California in this as well. As you may know, California tried to pass recreational marijuana but it failed. It remains a very controversial topic in those states.
Doesnt the goverment understand that if marijuana was legalized there would be no need for a drug tunnel search team?
I'm glad to see that Anderson is safe.. Those tunnels make me nervous.
How long does it take to make these tunnels? From the looks it takes quite a while
Over 20,000 TONS of pot!
the US , in my opinion, really Needs to legalize pot.
Think of the large Dent legalization would do to the cartels!
I know there are harder drugs too, but pot seems to be the biggest haul from Mexico.
So I wonder how long this tunnel has been fully functional?
Goodness God!!! What a tunnel, looks like hell!!
These tunnels are getting so sophisticated. I'm thinking that they may not be used for just drugs. I wonder how many illegal aliens and possible terrorists could have used them to enter our country.
Anderson is so brave. I wouldn't go in there but it is amazing to see. Quite an operation. Those cartels certainly have the money and the manpower to build these tunnels.
I wouldn't last two minutes in that hole. This report is truly fascinating. I'd like to see an overhead map that specifically indicates where the tunnel starts, it's path and where it ends.
Eek. I wouldn't want to go down in that tunnel, even just for a little while!
This new tunnel makes the other one look ancient.
@Starr, we are supposed to have two more snow 'systems' come through this week so unfortunately we are not out of the woods, I think we are going to have a new snow record here
I agree Gloria. That tunnel was some construction project that looks like it took years to make. I wonder what tipped off the authorities on this?

That tunnel had a contractor.

Evening Anderson and everyone. We have almost 4ft of snow here and it is still snowing....yuck!
Good evening everyone! Didn't WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange have troubles this summer, not just with leaking documents? I hear he is in hiding.
Good evening Anderson and fellow bloggers. Trying to keep up to date with the WikiLeak situation lately. That's becoming a huge story.
Anderson,
Hi! It's great to see you from the border.
The tunnel sounds fascinating, though I hope you stay safe. I'm looking forward to your report tonight.
Good Evening Everyone! Greetings!
