Washington (CNN) - Fresh off an electoral shellacking for his Democratic Party, President Barack Obama heads to India on Friday to launch a 10-day Asian trip intended to expand export markets and strengthen security cooperation in what he considers a region vital to U.S. interests.
The trip to India, Indonesia, South Korea and Japan encompasses a G-20 summit, an Asia-Pacific Economic Council summit, major holidays in India and Indonesia, and bilateral talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao and at least five other leaders, as well as four presidential news conferences.
It's all part of an administration focus on Asia as a strategic region in the 21st century, said Ben Rhodes, the deputy national security adviser for strategic communications.

should read Obama sets off on a expensive trip to Indonesia at tax payers expense. He plans to visit 3rd largest muslim Mosque while there.where they count him one of their own.Another case of Obama ignoring the people here ,with a trip he claims for jobs over there to help us.Once again, even after being whipped worse than any president in recent history in this election, failing on everything he has done so far,he still wont work on the economy here and jobs. he only spends and worries about foreign markets somewhere else.He just doesnt get it,and hes very bad for america and our way of life ,same with the rest of the democrats.
Why is the media NOT discussing the cost of this trip – I heard it would cost the American taxpayers $200 million/day. Does this sound right? I am totally flabbergasted that Obama would have the gall to spend this kind of money!
I find it highly ironic not mention moronic at how many people going and how many assets are being spent for this Asian trip. Estimates range from $150 to $200 million a day are being spent by the American taxpayer to fund the idiotic trip. Even at low estimates this trip will cost the taxpayer a billion dollars. It's not hard to see why the democrats took a well deserved beating in the mid-term elections. They act more like a ruling class than a public servant. No wonder they want to raise taxes when they spend like a bunch of drunken sailors. Stupid is as stupid does Barack.
