We have new information from the hospital where the 33 rescued miners are being checked out. There's remarkable progress to report. Plus, why the body of David Hartley may never be recovered after he was reportedly shot and killed on a lake along the U.S.-Mexico border.

All of the evidences were destroyed when they moved out of the house.

I think it may have been an accident and a cover up.

Maybe a new administration at the police department opened the cold case. They may have new ways of testing evidence. Stranger things have happened in the murder of little children sorry to say.

I have no idea who killed Jonbenet Ramsey, Maybe someone might kill her, or maybe other will be loose, no one arrested.

I actually feel sorry that she had to be paraded around like she was in those beauty pageants.

That whole Ramsey investigation was botched. I also can't get past the original note. That note was ridiculous, some long rambling diatribe. Who would sit and write something like that after they had just murdered the child.

It's sad that Patsy Ramsey died without any closure of her daughter's death. The pain that she went through for so many years when people were suspicious of her having something to do with it must have been torture.

I can see no reason for this young man to cooperate with the police at this point in time.

The Ramsey family has been through hell.

You can't fixed a botched investigation. Leave him and his father alone.

    Thank you Tom Foreman.

Heather, I think the guy you're talking about was found incident, but had some bizarre fascination with Jon Benet. Strange guy. :-O

This a very sad thing for this beautiful child, I wonder how many children are forgoten the same thing happened to them

I don't know..I always had the feeling the parents must have had something to do with it. I still do.

He did, Heather. But he was a fraud.

Most people are killed by someone they know.

Wow...I really thought the JonBenet was a cold case. Yet, there must be something out there for investigators to reopen this and want to re-interview possible suspects.

  18. Heather - Spokane, WA

I thought they found her killer? I remember some guy came forward and said he did it

It would be nice to know the definite answer in the Jon Benet case, but wow.. I wonder how many other murder investigations don't get this type of detailed scrutiny..

  22. Nancy in Oregon

That's what I wonder, Jo Ann. Maybe he saw or heard something.

  23. David, Indiana

I feel like I contradicted myself, candidates are ducking the natl media for the local but are sticking to their talking pts from the repts I have seen.

Sounds like the Hartleys got caught up in the net of cartel informants and look outs.

  24. Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio

If Burke Ramsey is not involved in the murder he knows who did it.

I can't believe that it's been 14yrs since the death of JonBenet.

Some of these new candidates are just down right scary!

  27. Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio

@Yaile, "They talk about them like they can't be defeated."

It isn't that they can't be defeated. It is because our govt. has chosen to be soft on border security and the Mexican govt. is corrupt.

    @Shanny
I don't know! Could it be "star light star bright!"

I will never forget how a ransom note in the mothers handwriting for the exact amount the father received. All taking place in their home, and never resulted in a trial. I was 12 and it made no sense to me.

    @Kenya,
    "Or maybe not??"
I wonder if Mrs. Hartley has 'survivors guilt'?
(& doesn't even know it, yet)

    October 14, 2010 at 10:39 pm |
  31. Libby

Sharon, I wonder why they went 3 miles past American waters when they said that the area has posted warnings when you enter Mexican waters. Tiffany said they were aware of the border and that they crossed it. Still.. the whole story is extremely bizarre!

    October 14, 2010 at 10:37 pm |
  32. Yaile

They talk about them like they can't be defeated. People this is an easy thing to defeat we need to push our official to push hard and get this problem out of our lives once and for all.

    October 14, 2010 at 10:37 pm |
  33. Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio

This is why we need stricter border security.

    October 14, 2010 at 10:36 pm |
  34. Janis

The US needs to make this a national problem not a local problem.

    October 14, 2010 at 10:36 pm |
  35. Sue R. Canton MI.

I agree,,, this whole story about David Hartley is a mystery and its so sad about the investigater's death. It's remarkable how his wife has been able to withstand all these interview's. I would have been too emotional.

    October 14, 2010 at 10:36 pm |
  36. Lori

I think that if cartels are involved, they were shooting to scare the couple away and not to kill. It was likely an accident

    October 14, 2010 at 10:36 pm |
  37. Jacqueline, NY

You're right, Andy. It sounds like something out of a book. A Robert Ludlum book.

    October 14, 2010 at 10:36 pm |
  38. Kenya

Mrs. Hartley must be thanking her lucky stars that they let her go so easy..knowing the nature of drug cartels. Or maybe not??

    October 14, 2010 at 10:35 pm |
  39. Yaile

These drug cartel can't be that difficult to defeat we need more goverment resources from both side to fight them back and stop them quickly

    October 14, 2010 at 10:35 pm |
  40. Heather - Spokane, WA

This story has way too many holes in it, I don't know what to believe. I have a hard time believing her story. The investigator that was murdered, of course I believe but I think he walked into a trap because he was investigating a murder. Hers is the only one I am having trouble believing

    October 14, 2010 at 10:34 pm |
  41. Starr, formerly known as vincent

Wow, now that's some story about spies, etc. and i forgot about the beheading of the lead investigater.

    This is down right scary.

When and how are we going to protect our borders?!!

    October 14, 2010 at 10:33 pm |
  42. Sharon Hastings

I started out being skeptical about this Hartley story. Now it sounds a little more plausible. I still have 2 questions. Why were they there when it was common knowledge it was a very dangerous area?? To take pictures of a church?? And why didn't the pirates harm the wife and take her jet ski too?? They were armed, they could easily have done that. Why did they let her go to tell her story??

    October 14, 2010 at 10:33 pm |
  43. Samantha Rowley - Nashville, TN

The beheading of the lead investigator is what is really scary. That sends a strong statement from whomever to back off. Sounds to me that the Mexican authorities are probably turning a "blind eye" to this case. Should be interesting to see more developments.

    October 14, 2010 at 10:33 pm |
  44. Yaile

We need to take a strong stand against these criminals in Mexico

    October 14, 2010 at 10:33 pm |
  45. Libby

Sure is a bizarre situation. :-/

    October 14, 2010 at 10:33 pm |
  46. Shanny

    @Gloria,
    WHAT are the lights then??

    October 14, 2010 at 10:33 pm |
  47. Janis

I really think that if Mexico and the US took this whole drug cartel border war as seriously as terrorist attacks, all the cartels could be handled. This is way too close to our border to be treated just as local drug crimes. Mexico and the US have a big problem with them.

    October 14, 2010 at 10:32 pm |
  48. Lori

I think it is highly doubtful that the value of the jet skiis would be a factor in a murder.

    October 14, 2010 at 10:32 pm |
  49. Gloria, Brooklyn, NY

I have seen those lights before that it's not even newsworthy to me.
