How insulting to hear Steve Perry tell educators that they are totally responsible for students failing. It is obvious that he knows nothing about the millions of teachers who work way above and beyond to work with students so that they may succeed. Until this becomes a discussion where teachers, parents and students share equally in the responsiblities required to educate each and every student, stop blaming teachers. As a math teacher who has taught for over 30 years, has institued new programs in all schools I have worked at, has created advanced and remedial classes to insure success in mathematics, I am appalled at comments like his. He is correct in one of his statements: there are people in every occupation that should be removed and he is the perfect example.
