Dry Run to Blow up U.S. Airliner?: Join the Live Chat

[cnn-photo-caption image=http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/01/02/liveblogfinal.copy.jpg]

We're following breaking news. Was it a practice run to blow up a U.S. jetliner? Bottles of liquid with watches and cell phones attached, inside checked luggage on a flight out of Chicago. Two men are in custody in the Netherlands. We'll have the latest and tonight's other news.

Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

Important reporting from Sanjay Gupta. On CNN International the top issue concerning Pakistan was a Crickel scandal. I could not believe it.

"Being a miner is such a stressful job, not for the claustrophobic."

For sure Not for the Claustrophobic, or anyone that needs to see Daylight!
I have a hard time even properly spelling when typing about it. (Thinking about doing that day in and out; then being trapped for weeks...can't even thing about it.)

Lovely roses there in the rose garden.

Earl looks like a category 4 up to the Carolinas.

    All those injuries from drinking...

The miners must do their best not to think about the tons of rock btwn them and sunlight.

Matthew, John Adams warned those of his time that we should not have a 2 party system because we would spend allour time battling each other....and so it is. He was a brilliant man.

I've been submerged in a sub for 2.5 months continuously. It wasn't that bad, but I had plenty to do. 4 months without a 'job' to do will get old fast.

AC, have you asked the question to TEA party organizers including Ms. Dana on where were they when G.W. Bush was president?

It is good that they have those drills for when an accident in the mine happens, but what is scary is that is only good if people make it there in time. The ones they had lately, excluding this recent one, no one made into those 'bins'

Aysha is very charming. I'm surprised there hasn't been a permanent replacement for Erica.

I think NASA pitching in to help is wonderful. I guess the only way to look at this is like Apollo 13 or some long soviet missions in the early space race days. Way to go NASA! I pray for the miners and their families.

It would be tough to be in total darkness as well as in a confined space. No day or night would be difficult and disorienting.

I keep hoping people will see the value in trying to work together and this rally did not impress me. I worked on the national elections, work on community efforts, and am saddened and disillusioned to keep seeing and hearing the disrespect of our President and watching the Big Buck people financing elections to the tunes of millions.
We have plenty of issues on the table and if some the time, energy, and money was put forth to solve some of the problems instead of just running elections, I bet we could progress.
Citizens of other countries watch and consistently see us continuing a "CIVIL WAR" with our energy and money, rather than solving our problems. We really cant get beyond the 2 parties and this display by Beck didn't fool me. I have heard and seen him before & it wasn't conciliatory conversations. It is hard for individuals to believe they can make a difference when these people have a couple of billionaires behind them as well as many older people who are well off. The same billionaires who support this group support the discord over the birth certificate, etc. It is a closed minded group,

Shame on the congresswoman from Texas for giving her relatives those valuable college scholarships. There are sooo many desperately poor kids in America who really needed that money to go to college.
