'Plan B' For Trapped Miners: Join the Live Chat

[cnn-photo-caption image=http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/01/02/liveblogfinal.copy.jpg]

Tonight, simply remarkable pictures from deep underground. 33 Chilean miners, alive, but now, for the first time, they're also fully aware that they could be down here until Christmas. Unless a new 'Plan B' can get them out sooner. Plus, five years after Katrina, an up close look at how Habitat from Humanity volunteers are helping rebuild the city.

Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

We have a Stella's in Uptown, Minneapolis. They specialize in seafood. It has a great view of the city's skyline. I wonder if it is a chain the Stella's in New Orleans. Good Night!

Hope in New Orleans and despair in Pakistan. Two extremes tonight.
Great work Dr. Sanjay ! Think you are going to have take over to provide aid!

I believe it is the mix of cultures that makes New Orleans so special.

@Heather, I agree. Also, I have never heard Beck say anything that was racist. He has said that people should be judged on their character and not the color of their skin.

I hope Pakistan can get all the help they need. It seems we have a new tragedy every few days.

Sanjay's report and your discussion with him shows clearly the emergency in Pakistan, and the precarious situation of those who are having to flee their homes.

There have been so many tragedies and so much need this year and only so much to give. I hope Pakistan can get the help it needs.

@JoAnn-'Don't be fooled, everyone in "show business" or in the media has an ulterior motive. I am not a Beck fan and I have only seen his show a few times, but even if some of what he says is ridiculous, some of it makes sense and is based on facts anyone can look up.'

Only he knows what is going to happen

It is so sad to hear about the flooding in Pakistan and far worse, the diseases and lack of clean water. With the evacuations, where exactly do you place these people? I can't imagine evacuating the state of Florida (as it was once compared to). I suppose the other states would absorb them, but Pakistan is a much smaller country than the U.S. Would their neighbors consider taking them in?

it has been fascinating to see the Katrina coverage – New Orleans then and now. it looks like such a vibrant place. watching the habitat for humanity segment earlier was a good reminder that life goes on, and it is never too late to get involved and make a difference. really great show tonight. will be thinking of New Orleans this weekend.

Its just shamful that so many people have no idea what Dr. King stood for. For someone as slimey as Beck to pretend to care about Dr. King or his dream is downright pathetic! I know exactly what kind of hate Beck spews from his show – exactly! He is the direct opposite of Dr. King!!!!

That worst place I have seen in Pakistan.

It is absolutely tragic what is happening in Pakistan. China has also had horrible land slides due to long deluge of rains with many dead, homeless and missing.

Reclaim doesn't mean from something or someone. It means bringing something back to suitable use, basically the condition for which it was intended.
