[cnn-photo-caption image=http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/01/02/liveblogfinal.copy.jpg]

We're following breaking news. Dr. Laura Schlessinger is ending her radio show, in a cloud of a racially-charged controversy. Hear what she told Larry King just moment ago. Plus, two reports on the oil still lingering in the Gulf of Mexico raising some chilling possibilities and more.

Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

So the question is, is the gulf waters clean enough to swim, vacation, and fish? is the fish from the gulf waters safe enough to be eaton? A lot of seemingly well meaning individuals have spoken vehemently against reports that the a great deal of the gulf oil spills has essentially decipated. On the other hand some communities with vested interests want America to believe that all is well along the gulf to do all the above activities. Either one believes in one or the other assertion. Again which camp has the fact right? You can eat your cake and have it, says that old adage?

If they can give those White House gate crashers a show..you can count on it. They dish out reality shows like coupons these days.

This is the first logical thing I've read about the mosque...

"...that's why the Pope ordered a convent near a former concentration camp closed. Even though the nuns were there expressly to pray for the dead, the Pope felt it was insensitive to Jews and closed it down. Why can't the Imam move the mosque for the same reason?

That said, poor taste and offensive behavior is not something written in to our Constitution and be thankful it's not.

If Illinois only had a recall provision in its state constitution Blago whould have been long gone. Many of the polititions from Illinois know that and that is why we do not have recall in Illinois – it would be just as good as term limits. and bamboozeled voters would have a recourse.

@Mike, formerly from Syracuse, "The President could and should have said that there is a Constitutional right, but call for the Muslims to take the feelings of the families of victims into account."

Obama is voting "present" again. He tells the Muslims what they wanted to hear and then backpeddles because of the criticism he received.

    "Blago is a true politician."

I wonder if he will run & be re-elected!

I hate to see any Americans lose their jobs, but considering what Dr. Laura said on her radio talk show about using the "N" word I think she should resign. I'm thankful that most younger people are more open-mind about race, religion and gay rights!

I doubt many of us people really 'get' our own true intentions, JoAnn, so by extension I doubt that many in religious organizations do either. It would not be a failing limited to Islam, in my view.

@Casey Jones, If Presbyterians had flown those planes I bet there would be a flap if they built a church in that spot.

    24 counts.
Decisions about what to charge people with seem to be so arbitrary and more of a tactic rather than a clear understanding of which crimes the DA thinks have been committed?

  22. Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio

If they build the mosque on that sacred ground maybe they should place the parts of the WTC plane that landed there, right on top of it as a reminder in honor of the victims.

Does anyone know who is the head of the Muslim community re. their Mosques?
I know that when the Catholics Nuns wanted to build a convent next to Auschwitz, the Vatican stepped in and stopped it....

What about the Leaders in the Muslim Community?
    What are they saying?

Would there be such an uproar about the mosque situation if it were a Baptist Church, or ?Catholic Church in that space? The actual map that I saw on tv shows that this site is a couple of blocks away form Ground Zero.

Just another crooked Chicago politician getting away with wrongdoing ultimately costing the taxpayers millions.

    In reply to:
"Fred, we have no idea what will be taught in this mosque."

And I have no idea was is being taught in most places of worship. But I do know that there have been all kinds violence that was done in the name of Christianity. Should we find out what's going on in some of those churches? The man who just recently killed the doctor who performed abortions did so in the name of Christianity, should we find out what's going on in his church??
    Wow.

Blago will find himself in another courtroom. The government will not give up, especially with a likely 11:1 for conviction situation.
