Tonight on 360°, we dig deeper into one of the most explosive claims being made in the battle over immigration. It's what we reported last night about how some Texas Republican lawmakers are claiming that illegal immigrants are having 'terror babies.'
Here's the accusation: Children born on U.S. soil to illegal immigrants, who are granted U.S. citizenship under the 14th amendment, are taken back to their home countries to be raised as terrorists. Then decades later the children, now adults, could be sent back to attack the U.S.
This controversial claim is linked to Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert.
"I was talking to a retired FBI agent, who said that one of the things they were looking at were terrorist cells overseas who had figured out how to game our system, and it appeared they would have young women, who became pregnant, who would get them into the United States to have a baby," Gohmert said on the House floor on June 24. "Then they could return, where they could be raised and coddled as future terrorists. And then, they could return, 20 or 30 years in the future because they realize how stupid we are being in this country," he added.
Gohmert mentioned a retired FBI agent as his source. Then later he changed his story to say his source was actually a terrorist grandmother.
Then last night on 360°, another Texas lawmaker, Debbie Riddle, came on the program. The Republican member of the Texas State Legislature said her office is getting information on the so-called terror babies from former FBI officials. We called the FBI today to see what they thought of these claims. We'll have that for you tonight.
We also have a remarkable report from 360's Gary Tuchman. He has an up close look at the birth tourism movement. He'll introduce us to a Mexican woman who came to Texas on a tourist visa while pregnant, specifically to give birth to a U.S. citizen.
"I wanted him to have duel citizenship, so one day, if he moves to the United States he will not have any problems," she told Gary about her now 3-year-old son.
We'll also take you inside the hunt for a serial killer who's accused of stabbing to death five people and wounding 15 others. He may be linked to attacks in three states and authorities say he appears to be choosing his victims by the color of their skin. Investigators say the man often pretends to need help before stabbing his victims.
Join us for these stories and much more starting at 10 p.m. ET. See you then.

After watching your segment regarding the "Terrorist Babies", I believe that there are people that hate the U.S. and everything it stands for, therefore, I feel that it is not far fetched that terrorists would have babies that would be a threat to the U.S. in the future. If there are people who are willing to strap themeselves with a bomb and blow up a train or a bus why would anyone think that having terrorist babies would be absurd. Either the congress woman is on to something very real or she just gave food for thought to these extreme radicals.
I just happened to watch your clip of Texas experts on terrorist breeding. Thank God they are on top of this. Only the most educated and true American's could find out this very important information.
They are no doubt the same people whom have unearthed the facts about Obama's illegal presidency and his lack of American citizenship. Our country would certainly become taken over by Muslims, terrorists, antichrists, or space aliens, if it where not for great Americans like these who are willing to look like complete buffoons to convince other Americans that also have a difficult time finding their way through turnstiles and getting off escalators, but still believe Americans should have jobs that don't require educations but allow us to drive 4-wheel drives on flat surfaces in Florida!
I watched the interview with Debbie Riddle last night and I believe the term we are looking for is "red herring". The manner in which she tried to change the focus to support her argument was reminiscent of the Bush administration's handling of the Iraq/WMD fiasco; my bs alarm went off immediately. And attacking Anderson for 'grilling' her re: her evidence of the claim she was making was crazy. No intelligent, responsible, public figure should make such alarmist, sensational claims without thoroughly checking the facts. She obviously did not.
Birth Tourism...It's happening in Canada too, for some time now. Greedy people abusing the system, I say.
As for terrorist babies, I believe those wishing ill will would stop at nothing and try anything. A period of 20 or 30 years is not a long time in the mind of crazy fanatics.
Loopholes must be removed to stop all of it.
Terror baby is totally absurd, and senator riddle she just has too much botox that affect her thinking. How the heck you become a senator or a rep. and doesn't have the intelligent to make those claim without proof. Also with this immigration debate. Why is it some politician like to blame the president for not securing our border. Aren't those politician are part of the federal government. Tell those idiots start working on passing a comprehensive immigration bill and stop blaming each other. For the 10 million illegal, the gov. should give them a work visa so they can pay taxes, and id each and everyone. Than do a background check to see who has a criminal record and deport them. That's one way to solve the problem.Secondly, build the great wall of America, that will bring plenty of jobs.
In theory, the terror baby idea does make sense. I personally think its an idea that will take a long time to develop. That being said, politically it is crack at the immigration issue and the 14 admendment
