A federal judge has blocked one of the most controversial sections of a tough Arizona immigration law, granting a preliminary injunction Wednesday that prevents police from questioning people about their immigration status.
That provision required police to "make a reasonable attempt to determine the immigration status of a person stopped, detained or arrested" if the officer has a reasonable suspicion that the person is in the United States illegally.
U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton's ruling, in response to a motion filed by the federal government, came with scant hours to go before the law goes into effect.

Not fair to all those immigrants who do everything by the book!
Stupid.
The government is doing NOTHING to protect American citizens and EVERYTHING to protect illegals! Have YOU seen the crime statistics for illegals in AZ? Unbelievable!
Have you heard what is happening in Mexico NOW with the drug cartel wars? I give AZ five years until THEY are the having the same issues.... Heck, they do now.
I am really glad that the U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton ruled to stop this act. I feel that if the ruling was to have gone through then alot of people would have had to start over and that's not fair.
Go Judge Bolton 🙂 Thank you for being part of the land of the brave in bringing focused, priority justice implementation....
Oh the Constitution! Who cares! Let's just have judges make up whatever rulings they want without regard for law.
If people actually take the time to read the full decision reached by Judge Bolton, they will understand there was no other conclusion she could have reached based on exiting Federal Statutes. Undoubtably it will take a very short time for people to start making accusatory and inflamatory postings about liberal judges and the like, when it has no bearing whatsoever on her decision.
Finally some common sense has prevailed
Poor Arizona, find another way but don't give up
