[cnn-photo-caption image=http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/01/02/liveblogfinal.copy.jpg]

We're awaiting an announcement from BP on its earnings and whether BP CEO Tony Hayward will stay or go. There are numerous reports he's going to be booted. We're also following developments in the leaked reports on the Afghan war on WikiLeaks.org.

Want more details on what we're covering? Read EVENING BUZZ

Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

So is this guy Julian Assange from Great Britain? How is it that BP and this organization are blatantly doing the USA harm?

Was this man introduced? I didn't get his name. He sounds British. If he's not a U.S. citizen and is living outside the U. S., then I assume the the U. S. government has no authority over him and therefore is unable to bring charges against him.

This guy thinks he knows better than trained intelligence agents what's vital or sensitive and what isn't. Who does he think he is? His whole attitude is smug and arrogant. I hope they go after him and put him in deep dark jail cell somewhere for the rest of his life.

@ Starr, i do hope there are no names published, in Dutch press there was only about the heat missle attack by the Taliban (scary thing) and... more civlilian death then reported..

Wow, if I lived in a war-zone, I would not help anyone if I saw my name on the internet! There's no way that I'd provide information.

It's not Wikileaks job to decide what will or will not harm the war effort. They aren't qualified to do so.

    July 26, 2010 at 10:56 pm |
  18. Emily

How does he know that he's not going to "cause any harm" to anyone?

    7 months old?
The war has been going on since 2001...

@ Starr thanks for your response and I agree the story on the pipeline is extremely concerning Part of what happened with the Valdez spill was that spill response equip repairs were not up to date.

I haven't seen Fox new's reporting on the tape of Ms Sherrod's speech, other than a brief clip, but from the embarrassment that has been caused all around I would think that the most important pt in all of this is being sure to do background research, intvw sources and check context before airing and commenting on a story or someone's remarks to an audience

If actual peoples' names were published, that is Ugely irresponsible and dangerous! Some people might be killed depending on where their names appeared and in what capacity.

@Mike- i agree on the Treason charge during wartime. I have heard that one private has been turned in as a "source" in this matter.

@ Megan. Sad about the leaks.. and Thanks for the welcome

    @Mike, formerly from Syracuse,

I was wondering what you thought of this...
Do you think that the person should be prosecuted for their actions?

    July 26, 2010 at 10:53 pm |
  23. Dodie

    Gloria

I completely agree. I am continually amazed at the lack of common sense in people of power and position.

@ Brad ,,Ohio.............Thank you for serving our country...........These documents may be old news,,,But its real concerning that they may gain access to whats happening now and it could put our troops in more danger..

    July 26, 2010 at 10:53 pm |
  25. Mike, formerly from Syracuse

Each document in itself may not give something away. Taken together, these could be extremely revealing of very sensitive info.

@ Starr, formerly known as vincent.

Thanks so much. Luckily I don't have to have the payments from BP to make it, but am due it. I really feel bad for the ones that need the payments for there entire income.

    Greetings All !

Great show, a lot of leaks lately first the oil now the confidential papers...
    What next ?

    July 26, 2010 at 10:52 pm |
  28. Nicole The Netherlands

I do hope there are no names of translators in these documents, lot of them get attacked after being employed for military operations and they don´t get a ticket out..
Really hope these people know what they are putting outthere, not more dead anywhere.
Only a good thing if it contributes to peace.

If Publishing these documents place people's lives at risk, those responsible for the publishing of these documents should be arrested.

Please have the sociology professor back! He was extremely eloquent and informative....I'm pretty sure the GOP spokesman didn't understand 3/4 of what the good professor said, though....

    July 26, 2010 at 10:51 pm |
  31. Donna Needham

I agree with professor Dison, and Howard Dean , FOX and parts of the tea party and the repulicans foster racism. I will not vote for any repulican or teaparty person.

    July 26, 2010 at 10:51 pm |
  32. Heather - Spokane, WA

@Gloria, good one! Now the question is.....did the person who leaked these documents have common sense?

    July 26, 2010 at 10:51 pm |
  33. Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA

Not good news for me heard that someone leaked documentaries released...... YIKES, I agree all of panels said.

    July 26, 2010 at 10:51 pm |
  34. Mike, formerly from Syracuse

Releasing these documents in time of war is treason.

    July 26, 2010 at 10:50 pm |
  35. Starr, formerly known as vincent

I grew up in the Military....my Dad put in 33 yrs. Naval Air.

Although there may be nothing "new" in these documents, i do not believe they should have been "leaked".

Any military info that is classified shoutd NOT be released to the public as it can certainly be dangerous in many ways.

Leaked info is only important if Any powerful entity LIes to the American people ie. the Pentagon Papers.

    July 26, 2010 at 10:50 pm |
  36. Samantha Rowley - Nashville, TN

The release of the afghan war documents is downright disturbing and traitorous!

    July 26, 2010 at 10:48 pm |
  37. Gloria, Brooklyn, NY

"Common sense should tell one not to put classified documents online!"

    July 26, 2010 at 10:48 pm |
  38. Mike, formerly from Syracuse

There is a proper procedure for declassifying documents. It's not up to a 'whistleblower' to decide what could harm us or not.
