People get fired all the time without a good reason. Should all of them go to CNN?
I was asked to resign or get fired by my new supervisor and new chief of department at Miami-Dade County without a reason. Those responsible were fired within that year. Did I suppose to contact CNN and the White House? It was the best job I had. Here is the thing... I was Jewish working with Latin (Cubans) people who did not speak a word of English and some didn't even have the college degree from the USA. This was at a local county government!!
What I really love about this story is that in the end it comes out that its OK for the NAACP to call the tea party racist, its ok for the congressional black caucus to not to respond to the tea party, when they write a letter to them showing, in their original charter forbidding racism, after the congressional black caucus accused a teaparty member for spitting on a congressman and using the n-word, (by the way Breitbard has offered $100,000 to anyone with any video or audio evidence), or when Ms. Sherrod says she could tell the white farmer was thinking he was superior to her, and lastly for her calling Breitbart a racist and basically Fox too. Great coverage CNN.
Thank you for the interview with Shirley Sherrod. I thought I had heard enough about this story until you gave her the opportunity to express her thoughts about the reason behind the release of the clip of her speech. I totally agree with her statement that Andrew Breitbart wasn't tageting her nor the NAACP. He was and is tageting a black president. The reason for the Tea Party is the black president. Bill Clinton was targeted by the conservative establishment from the time he announced his candidacy. They despised him. He attempted to reform health care and raised taxes. But there was no grassroots movement. Thank you again for allowing her to state this obvious truth.
How can anyone take seriously a 24 year old statement even if the charge were not false?
I keep saying it, Sherrod got what she wanted, a telephone conversation with President Obama, some fame, maybe a movie deal, a book deal, make some money on the situation she caused herself. She didn't stand her ground when asked to resign yet she claims to be a fighter, she should have demanded she be heard, allowed to explain her words, her actions from the past. But no, she wanted to cause trouble for President Obama, the White House, the Agriculture Dept, NAACP, Fox News, etc... She didn't hesitate to file a lawsuit against the Agriculture Dept in 1997 and made $300,000. on that lawsuit, she was a fighter then why not now. She's a smart lady.
