Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

It is way pass time we deal with race issues as well as status issues. Come on, times are changing. Let us pray for this storm to go away, that we find other energy sources, have safe food to eat, healthcare for all, most of all education for all our children.....with the truth...nothing but the truth. Including all history. We need to stop living in the stone age and realize the loud cry of the people.

I saw bubbles coming up on 7-15 while President Obama was addressing that the well stopped spewing in a live picture of well along side the President.

    @ Merle
You would think that would have been done as soon as this happened (checking all wells).

BP's hallmark is deceit and lying!!!

I think if someone puts out some argument or pt of vw they are responsible for the facts and reasoning of that pt of vw.

Ultimately a pt made by Rev Jesse Jackson on John King last night, that the govt acted too hastily is spot. Doing due diligence in considering the what was being alleged against Ms Sherrod would've prevented this in part from blowing up as it has.

A good discussion with Donna Brazile and Eric Erickson.

I feel that the gonvernment is divided right now. Democrates and republican need too come together to ensure the future of this great country to our children. Please these officials that have been put in office by the voters of this country, do your job to make these times a little more tolerable for the American people. Besides they do work for us. Miss Sharrod, what she said was what she said. Her words were tooken and made to be someting that it was not. Thats why this man is now apologizing to her. He was going to make her resign, now i wonder will he be the one to resign, probably not.

Good job Ed Henry!!!!! he was tracking for Cheryl Cook who force Shirley Sherrod resign, Keep them Honest!!!!!! Yay!!

That is the problem when speeches and presentations are manipulated by those who have an agenda! Hopefully, this will teach everyone how something can be misrepresented!.

Yes, Jewell, that's how I understood it. It is the way she felt at the time, long ago, which was her whole point: that it was long ago and she changed...and believes people need to.

  12. Nicole The Netherlands

@Jo Ann, maybe i listened to to much old school hip hop or James Brown. .. That has been sort of an influence in my life 😉
She tells her story from her perspective...
We can agree to disagree, can we?

I don't think we will hear from Cheryl Cook for a very long time!

@David. I agree that this is the kind of thing that makes us want to tune out. Most Americans have alot to worry about these days and many are having serious problems just staying afloat in very difficult times. This kind of political mess is not a welcome diversion and shouldn't be where our energies are focused. Unfortunately we can't tune out. Too much is at stake.

It was not later that she helped the farmer. She helped the farmer at the time she had the racist feelings. She helped him when she said he talked a lot to prove his superiority and she sent him "to his own kind."
She didn't have a change of heart and help him later. Also, she said she didn't help him as much as she could have.

    July 22, 2010 at 10:34 pm |

I think that people should talk about race in this country openly, without fear of saying something wrong and maybe then something will be achieved...

Ms Sherrod should get an Attorney and win big. She has been damaged and shamed on National news..she should be paid well!

I'd love to know who the genius was that took Breibart's video as gospel truth!

    Exactly Gloria from NY.

@Sue R, .Shirley Sherrod has said again that the White House ordered the forced resignation. Clearly she isn't out to get Obama. I believe what she said is true.

    July 22, 2010 at 10:32 pm |
  23. Vickie

Ms. Sherrod's actions speak louder than any words taken out of context. She is not a racist, period. In the end, she did the right thing towards the farmer and his family. That's a fact. She is an example to all. Too bad some still insist on trying to paint her as a racist.

    July 22, 2010 at 10:32 pm |
  24. Bob

While the whole Sherrod incident is regrettable, and there is enough blame to go around, but the real issue here should be to identify who initiated the firing (forced resignation) and to hold that person totally accountable for their action(s)….

  25. Samantha Rowley - Nashville, TN

Oh Cheryl, where are you? Did she conveniently leave the country until this dies down? Way to stay on it Ed!

    July 22, 2010 at 10:32 pm |
  26. Jewell

@ Jo Ann, that was how Ms. Sherrod felt at the time. If she continued to harbor racism in her heart, she would not have helped the farmer save his farm.

It is a blood sport, Bill Williams, but I think it isn't just the right and left doing it...I think a lot of people eat it up. Sadly.

  28. David

Who is the person that told Ms. Sherrod that the White House wanted her to resign immediately? This is the person and/or the reason for this whole saga. There is more to this story at the White House. Breightbart is only a sideshow of this story. Or a scapegoat. Please dig deeper into the White House source that wanted Sherrod to resign.

  31. Bill Williams

Anderson, your comments at the beginning of tonight's show are 100% correct! The right and the left have turned politics into a blood sport and neither side cares who is hurt in the process. Destroying someone in the name of party politics is an "end" result that justifies the "means", and the only thing that matters is political power.

Please continue to be a true "journalist" who seeks the truth!

Anderson, someone asked earlier, "Does Shirley Sherrod have a job?"

The bottom line, when all is said and done, is Ms Sherrod will need income. Is there any word or assurance of that?

I still don't think he has any real self-insight, Nicole. I agree with you in the rest, but I don't think the man has a clue as to who he really is being.

Regardless of the oil spill, and no matter the storms, living in the South is still great. Now the new Gulf storm will bring some serious praying among many, but we have faith that we will be safe.

"The race card is getting way, way overused."

Indeed, it always has been & still is...also, religion seems to have crept in there in the past decade or so.

Why is this man upholding the despicable acts of Andrew Breitbart, wrong is wrong and should be called out no matter who does it. Defending or refusing to condemn a person because you share the same beliefs or ideology is just as wrong as Andrew Breitbart who set this off .That is the a game of children, isn't it.

  44. Sue R. Canton MI.

I think this was a sick political smear against the Pres. Obama Whitehouse.and an innocent person lost her job because of it.

Its great that you allowed her to tell her side of this story.

After they seal the well are they making plans to check on the 27,000 abandoned wells in the gulf?

  47. Sabrina in Los Angeles

The internet is double edged. You can get your view out away from censorship so truth can get out but also, unfortunate part of it is that bias and agendas creep in as well.

The full tape proved that Sherly Sherrod was noting that she came through a transition and over came it.

It seems that Breitbart is looking for anything to get the good old boys club back and go back in time.

Fear and ignorance is what drives the stupid biases.

Truth can stand inquisition....live that way.

    July 22, 2010 at 10:27 pm |
  48. Helen

Anderson should also show examples of doctored liberal tapes about the right.

    July 22, 2010 at 10:27 pm |
  49. Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio

@Lori, CA, "In my opinion, the fact that she had to think about doing the right thing makes her unsuitable for the position she was in. Breitbart was wrong for editing the tape and in a misleading way."

I agree with both of your statements. Breitbart was wrong, but Sherrod's racist words were also wrong.

    July 22, 2010 at 10:26 pm |
  50. Nicole The Netherlands

@Nancy and Gloria Breitbart is an divider, has nothing to do with self insight. He is not an journalist. He just wants to profile his opinion and with the elections coming... well. It is bash the Democrats season..
He loves this. He loves the mistakes made
