A critical moment in the Gulf: BP has stopped the oil gusher, at least for now. Will the ruptured well hold up under the pressure? The latest on the test underway right now.

@Starr Yes it is a relief, As Douglas Brinkley noted.
@Emily And that will challenging work given the millions of barrels in the gulf.
Thank God the Haitian govt is letting in the equipment and aid from those 154 organization. Oversight from the media, specifically 360 clearly helped bring about this result. I think the Haitian Govt actually need that pressure.
Thank you Anderson for clarifying the pt about storage fees
A relief for the families that had to surrender their pets to know that they are being adopted.

They should ship those animals to a "no kill" shelter like the Best Friends' Animal Sanctuary.
@Casey

Mr. Cooper I don't where you'll be next week..in the Gulf, Haiti or back in your suit and tie in NY but I know you'll stay devoted and won't forget the good people who need a voice. You have a heart of gold. Goodnight.
Love the story on the pets!!! "baby boy, baby boy, lets go see daddy in the truck"!
Goodnight AC360Team and fellow bloggers.
Great news today in the Gulf and Haiti.
Again thank you Anderson and CNN for being the strong voice for many.
Good news for the pets also.
Stay safe everyone.
There are certainly some beautiful people in this world!
Good night bloggers and thank you AC. I still don't see a cap on the well, I see three other forms of drawing from it.
happy ending .... they deserve it!
@Mike Jones, exactly. Ingenuity will figure out a way to make alternative energy cheaper than oil. Once that happens, the free market will drive the switch, not government regulations. No one had to legislate going from horses to cars.
Well, the pet adoption story makes my day.
These pets are so cute! 🙂
Randi looks like a natural with animals...this looks like it's turned into a happy story.
it is so good to hear about people wanting and able to provide homes for the pets – to many people they are just like a family member – i can see having someone else care for a pet if you are no longer to – but the mental stress of giving up a pet and knowing it may end up being put down would be just unbearable for a lot of people – especially the children
Such good news about the animals. I'm grateful for any good news these days. Good night everyone and lets hope the next few days bring more good news.
I feel for those folks who had to give up their four legged companions. Is there any way people can donate dog/cat food to the families so they can keep their pets? Kinda like adopt a family
OMG, what a cute puppy! Panda, ooooh, how cute. Oh, that's nice that the poor cats and dogs are finding new homes.
I sing to my dog too.
As alterative energy becomes cost effective or profitable we can ween off oil . But you cannot legislate in to effected,or mandate , the country would be back to the 1800.
It appears that many of the pets are babies (puppies).
@Mike, formerly from Syracuse, & niwat kurusattra,
Thanks. 🙂
So much has been talked about that capped erupting....
It's odd then hearing that "high pressure" is good.
Gary Tuchman,
Thanks for information from Haiti!!!!! Nice Job!!!!
I remember a sentence of Anderson's book. In the aftermath of Katrina someone said to him: "You have the power of a thousand bulldozers." He did not believe it, but I think it is true and has proven to be true again
"Wall Street is up stream on its own, now!"
Now that the well is capped BP should go home and never come back. I hope they go out of business.
Good Night Everyone! Just bought shares in BP 🙂
I think this is why President Obama put the moritorium on drilling. So these drilling companies would be prepared for any scenario that arises, instead of oil spilling into the ocean while they are making parts to retrieve oil in the future.
Thank You MIKE!!!!
Good news about the Gulf!
Yeah well – 67 people out of 100 dont even know whats in the finreg bill. only 7 out of 100 really know good about the 2300 bill...
That's outstanding work Anderson! Great news from Gary.
I hope that you keep us informed about this 20% tax.
Thanks for keeping on the Haiti situation Anderson. You and your team have already done some good I'm sure!! Keep it up. You are making a difference. Whoever is embarrassed should be embarrassed!
@Casey, NGO=Non-Government Organization. eg a charity.
Thanks Gary for staying in Haiti to uncover the faulty actions of the Haitian government towards the NGOs. Thanks for seeking the truth out. They must be listening as progress is now being made.
It's so sad that nobody has the pull to get food to the orphanages, It's sad that Sanjay had to be the one to make a call and get things moving the other day.
