Anderson,
I have personally given several hundred dollars to the Red Cross Haiti Relief effort. I read that there is close to 12 billion dollars pledged for the relief/rebuilding effort.
And I just read the article about the rampant child slavery in Haiti. Hundreds of thousands of children forced to work for nothing, abused, and mistreated. And...this is condoned and allowed by the government of Haiti. Unbelievable! Shouldn't this issue be addressed before we basically send billions of dollars to the corrupt and immoral Haitian government?
Some in depth reporting on this hot issue would be appreciated.
I say 1. Mandate Employers with a stiff Penalty unless they hire DIRECTLY from the State Unemployment Rolls. 2. Tell Congress unless 60 % of ALL Unemployed Americans are back to Work , NO TAX RAISE IN JAN. Then , once we as a People and Families are stable ...................Id be Glad to help the Haitian People any way I can. 🙂
Dear Anderson and Mr. Clinton .........I wish the People of Haiti well , however I have just a single question as a Suffering American . Where is the Political Mandate to aid suffering Un Employed Americans , who Employers ignore, targeting those who have jobs, with the excuse of "Youre Over-Qualified , or we have to fill another Demographic?" If we are expected to pay taxes to aid Haiti , how about MAKING SURE WE HAVE DECENT JOBS TO DO SO , and not have to sell our meager homes or Pray for Rain?
Clinto got us into Hati issues with Carter. They should feel more responsible to make sure money is spent well. If not. Hire someone to oversee and report back. If Bush had handled same way would be critisized galore! Nice reporting been there and difficult
