Oil Recovery Efforts Fall Short: Join the Live Chat

[cnn-photo-caption image=http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/01/02/liveblogfinal.copy.jpg]

Tonight live from the New Orleans, we dig into reports that BP has fallen short on the amount of oil it promised it could recover from the Gulf. Plus, the Queen comes to America. We've got the details on her speech to her hat.

Want more details on what we're covering? Read EVENING BUZZ

Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

    Again, CNN needs to get the Obama administration on their program to ask why they are not fighting the oil like a WAR as they claim? Why wasn't there a FLEET of ships collecting oil since the first week when oil spill first started? They said the volume of leak did not matter & they were preparing for the worst case scenerio (250,000 barrels/day as per BP's disaster plan) – so where was/is the effort to meet the worst case scenerio? Minimal OIL would be hitting the shores if the collection effort matched the worst case scenerio. Minimal damage to wildlife and clean up personel would be sustained!

    Who is answering the lack of urgency and response effort by the government? Keep THEM HONEST!

    @Mike Kelley

    they can't just cap it, locking or otherwise, because it's leaking below the surface, below the blow out preventer, which is why the top kill, junk shot, etc didn't work.

    what they're not saying is that the relief wells probably won't work either.

    Lack of immigration enforcement hurts all americans and companies which abuse low cost labour which illegal immigrants provide. If illegal immigrants felt more insecure/threatened by being in the US illegally, then there would be less appeal to enter & live in the US illegally. There needs to be ramifications for entering the country illegally. Illegal immigrants can easily be duped to perform "slave labour" currently so employers of illegal immigrants should also face stiffer penalties.

    If the US wants to help more Mexicans access the US maybe they need to increase legal migrant workes but have this a documented and controlled system. I support Arizona's effort to deal with illegal immigrants and provide better living conditions for legal citizens.

    Seems as though the five governors in the Gulf states need to get together and ask "What would Arizona do?" then get about getting it done without the feds.

    The supremacy clause applies where there is a conflict between federal and state law. If the Arizona law only criminalizes what is already criminal under the federal law, where is the conflict?
