Skimmers Caught in Red Tape: Join the Live Chat

A lot of people are asking why more skimmers aren't out in the Gulf helping clean up the oil. They're being blocked by red tape.     I thought that looked difficult, picking up the oysters with that kind of grabber. The oystermen are noticing differences in the oysters. Is anyone biologists studying how dispersants are affecting oysters, fish, crabs?

    @Starr I agree about hurricane. BP shouldn't be dragging their feet though, and on purpose is even worse, it that is the case.

    Well the restaurants might be able to adapt, but the point is that possible negligence is devastating their business.

    Is the federal government relying solely on BP to pay monies to the newly unemployed in the region? I'm curious to know if people applying for BP funds can also apply for unemployment insurance and also if new unemployment claims have risen in the Gulf region.
