Tonight, oil is gushing into the Gulf as BP works to replace the containment cap over the leak. The cap was removed this morning. We'll tell you why. Plus, what happens now that General Stanley McChrystal is out and Gen David Petraeus is in as commander in Afghanistan.
Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.
Here are some of them:
1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

BP's deadly oil rig explosion and massive oil spill in the Gulf is the result of pure greed! We should always respect the opinions of scientists and engineers over intoxicated company CEOs and management! Thanks Anderson Cooper and the AC360 crew for great reporting!
Good night AC360 Team and fellow bloggers
Good show . Stay safe everyone.
children are so honest
Bad news all over – but at least we get great and honest repoting on it. Thanks, Anderson and good night everyone!
this has gone way beyond your lawn getting a little shabby this is the point were we ten 18 wheelers of new turf those who know this kind of containment relize that there is no way to cover this mess bp relizes this too at top management the middle still thinks there is a chance to squash this with the old shultz line i know nothing nothing... 20 years of experience at it they got their cover up play book in full swing now.
For two months day and night I've tried to get our tool and device to the public and presidents office. BP UK say they won't review any submissions although they did say my tool had absolute merrit. The USCG has had the details for over a month but I didn't submit it in White Paper. Vi was told no matter how good or was I could not break the rules. Okay I fixed that. It's called a Breach Blick valve and flange for easy slow controlled stopping of the flow. Please ask what about this device. Breach Block valve. I'm a commercial diver in the gulf 35 years and still an active diver and welder.
Good night Anderson and Gary, and bloggers Emily, Mike, and Sree.
Good evening Anderson, David Gergen, 360 Team, Jo Ann, Mike, Nicole, David, Isabel, Megan, Nancy, Sree, Gloria, & Bloggers!
One more appalling thing I have learned from the Sea Turtle Restoration Project you can check out online, is that BP is burning turtles alive that are caught between booms, caught out there in the gulf where the burns are going on and they are not letting their workers save any turtles. And we know some of these are endangered species......
The gas injection pipe "Regrettably missed inspection because it was covered with snow and didn't make it on the to do list?"
They're not prepared to deal with snow in Alaska?
Is Mark Kovacs as the squeaky wheel going to get his concerns attended to?
Hello David Gergen,
I think that the insights that you've offered on AC360 have been correct!
Glad to see more of what you have to think on the blog.
It is a real sacrifice for Gen Petraeus & I don't know who will replace him, off hand.
The Government or Obama may not be responsible for the original disaster, but what has followed IS The Federal Government and President Obamas' responsibility.
This oil will travel up the east coast and farther. I e-mailed my Senators tonight. Everyone must contact their representatives.
Anderson you cannot stop covering this.
I love hearing from children. They tell it like it is....the truth. Thank you Gary Tuchman for your report.
I vote for vanishing too.
How sad. BP doesn't even consider the stress their negligence is putting on these innocent children.
Thank you once again Anderson. Man, you are courageous! Keep on until it is right ☼ again!
I heard about the "Dead Zones" that were being discovered, I wonder if that could lead to an "Anoxic Event" in the region or maybe the appearance of "Purple Sulfur Bacteria" (aka Purple Bacteria)
Thank you Mr. Cooper and CNN for your undying devotion to this heartbreaking mess in the Gulf. Goodnight.
Smart boy. When the parents tell him not to worry he knows something is wrong. Kids are always smarter than adults think they are.
David G. Thanks for your comment. Please remember all that Gen McChrystal is a patriot too!
good-night and PRAY
Thank you David Gergen for blogging in this evening. Thank you Anderson and CNN for your continued coverage in Louisiana.
Have a great evening all!
