Mexico files court brief against Arizona immigration law

Mexico on Tuesday filed a brief in federal court in Arizona supporting a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of a tough new immigration law, Mexico's foreign ministry said.
The lawsuit seeks to overturn SB 1070, a recently passed law due to go into effect late next month, which stipulates that police can ask the residency status of people being investigated for a crime.
"The government of Mexico has requested the court that SB 1070 be declared unconstitutional and that it does not enter into force," the foreign ministry said in a written statement.

i dont see what the big deal is you cant have it both ways,on one hand you want to crack down on illegal immigration,but then condemn the methods used.hell im an american (black,not african,never been to africa) and im stopped all the time and asked for identification as if im an illegal, under the guise that i fit the description.
And what happens if I cross into Mexico illegally? I go to jail. My kids do not get free schooling but they do in the US. How hipocrytical is that of Mexico to file this lawsuit.
We would like to say that we agree whole-heartedly to the law if it goes into effect. God bless you Arizona, keep up the good fight, it sounds like you understand our constitution better than our government does.
Gee I wonder what the governments of central and south american countrys have to say about Mexican immigration laws ?
Why call it "illegal" immigration if you aren't going to enforce the law? The Feds have forced Arizona to do something since the Feds have completely dropped the ball on the Obama promised immigration reform. The politicians are more worried about losing the popular vote then securing our borders, without which there can't possibly be "homeland security".
Maybe it's time we file a few lawsuits in Mexico to overturn laws in Mexico that we don't like, agree with????? File a lawsuit in Mexico for Mexico causing its people to illegally cross over to the USA because Mexico is in such bad shape?????
