Dr. Sanjay Gupta is reporting live from the Gulf oil spill tonight. As the oil continues to spread towards the coast from Louisiana to Florida there are concerns about the health effects the leaked oil can have on you. Many people have written in asking about the oil on the beach, the risk to seafood and the long term effects the dispersant could have. What questions do you have? Post them here and Dr. Gupta will answer some of them on the air tonight on AC 360° at 10 pm ET.

    What action are physicians advising to those who have asthma or even cystic fibrosis? I know that workers in past have been afflicted with respiratory issues – but what about those who already have respiratory illnesses?

    Hello Doctor Gupta,
    Is the Oil still giving off flammable vapor on the water & land surface?
    Can you Please get some one on CNN to tell us if a lightning strike from any storms could cause the whole thing to go up in a raging inferno???
    & if it did what would the effects of the smoke produced do if breathed in even in small amounts??? If a Hurricane were to hit the area & the oil was pushed up on shore & inland What happens if the oil gets into the water table??? Thank You in Advance,

    The tar balls have landed at Navarre Beach, people are walking through them and then spreading the tar to the beach crossovers, the carpet in there vehicles and then into the rental houses on the beach, furniture, tile floors, decks, carpet, showers and tubs are being covered in thick molasses type oil. Not to mention they are putting oily clothes into the washing machines. Where will it spread to next, maybe parts will follow vacationers back to there homes? Eddy- Navarre Beach Resident

    For those working on cleaning up the spill, what health precautions should they take?

    What possible treatments are there for people exposed to chemicals in the area?

    What happens if diseases developed from these chemicals are left untreated?
