Anderson, april 30th, i expressed my great concern and worries on this blog..about the oil `spill`, I knew you could and would, but i am so sorry, so sorry that you now have to show us these pictures of these birds, this wildlife dying. The biggest nightmare thought would happen, has happened.

But show them every day!!! let the world know!!!
Show the suffering of these innocent animals!

So sad seeing those poor helpless animals covered in oil and dying. It is just awful to see that.

so sad to see the birds you just showed. 🙁 what is our govt doing?
BP should not be allowed to manage this disaster.

Glad to see Anderson and CNN covering this extensively.

Shutting down all deep water rigs is like shutting down the whole automobile industry when Toyota was found to have safety violations

    Hi Mr Cooper,

    Happy Birthday!!!

    @Gayle McCauley,
Seeing those birds soaked & drowning in oil, I remember when you suggested that they use hay to soak up the oil & it was added that feathers would also do the job...we are certainly seeing how the feathers 'soaks' up the oil! 🙁

I nobody is out there purposely putting this stuff on a bunch of birds.

Anderson the pictures of the birds covered in oil are heart wrenching. I am just sitting here wide eyed wandering how many more animals have to endure that awful awful predicament.

It looks like the cap is on fire... Whats going on with this? Is it going to be another failure.. ACK

Diane: You pose a good question. I'm sure with the thickness of the oil mixture especially in the marshes, some of that wildlife is probably stuck underneath and at the bottom of the Gulf.

    June 3, 2010 at 10:09 pm |
  14. Mary - Philadelphia

There is fire around the cap, right? Is that what we're seeing?

Good evening. The sight of the oil soaked birds is extremely upsetting and just sickening. I agree with Mr. Brinkley. BP needs to shut-the-heck-up, plug the oil leak, and clean up the Gulf Coast!

Happy Birthday, Anderson! Thank you for your top-notch coverage of what is happening in the Gulf.

Are aerial dispersing agents being used off the coasts of Alabama and the Florida Panhandle as they have been off the coast of Louisiana? If so, how close will these planes and the chemicals they are carrying come to beach communities in these areas?

Glad to see you’re still in Louisiana! I thought you’d jet back home to New York and celebrate your birthday with family and friends while BP’s well gushed 200,000+ gallons of oil a day into the ocean. Clearly Hayward needs to learn how to accept responsibility and take a few pointers from you.

Thanks for keeping a promise and oh yes, happy birthday!

I see the oil and tears enter my eyes. I love Louisiana and live 20 mins from the gulf. However, why is no one reporting about all the rigs being forced to shut down? We are all worried about how we are going to pay the bills!

Hello, Anderson Cooper, It is no doubt challenging to deal with all the well wishes while presenting such a dire story. Possibly, just some mental relief from the stress of all that is not happening down there. ~ Happy Birthday; I hope all your birthday wishes come true.
