Rap music mogul Marion “Suge” Knight was arrested just after midnight Thursday for allegedly pointing a gun at a man, authorities in California said.

Knight, 45, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon involving a firearm and for driving under a suspended license, the Los Angeles Police told CNN.

According to investigators, an unidentified man reported that Knight aimed a gun at him late Wednesday evening.

Knight, who founded Death Row Records, was subsequently located driving a Cadillac Escalade in the city of Gardena, police said, who added that he was arrested without incident.

Knight was booked at the Los Angeles Police Department Metropolitan Jail and is being held on a $60,000 bail.

A public information officer with the LAPD told CNN they will continue their investigation.

Knight has had numerous run-ins with the law. He served several years in prison for violating probation on assault and weapons convictions.

Knight was with Tupac Shakur when the rapper was shot to death in Las Vegas in 1996. The murder has never been solved.

Never found a gun on his person or in his automobile, so how can you charge him with assault with a deadly weapon. You mean someone can just say he pointed a gun at me and they arrest you. That's not right!

I don't understand this! This man keeps getting out of jail, over and over! Doesn't California have a "3 strikes" law? If not, this man certainly makes a good case for the passage of one. Or does being a Rap bigshot give him special treatment that we average people dont have?

This man has been arrested, sentenced and paroled more than once, and each time he has violated his parole. How many "second chances" does this man get before he gets the same sentence that 'regular' people would get? LOCK HIM UP! His record company will double it's sales if he gets life! It's considered a resume' builder in that community!
