Did the “most wanted teen bandit in America” strike again? Maybe, authorities in Washington State said Sunday.
Colton Harris-Moore, 18, may have stolen a fishing boat that was reported missing Sunday Morning, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. San Juan County is located in the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington State.
At the same time the fishing boat was reported stolen, the abandoned vessel was located floating off nearby Camino Island, the statement said.
“This incident is being investigated as another possible criminal event involving Colton Harris-Moore and may be linked to a recent boat theft and burglary on San Juan Island,” the statement said.
San Juan County Sheriff William Cumming said there will be no further information made available concerning the investigation.
Harris-Moore has been suspected of stealing boats, cars, and planes over the course of the past several years. He has also been linked to multiple burglaries in communities in Washington State that have earned him the nickname of the “barefoot bandit.”
The 6’5” teenager has amassed a growing following on Facebook where a fan page numbered more than 20,000 members.
Many of the comments posted on the tribute page praise Harris-Moore as a modern day outlaw and encourage him to continue his alleged criminal pursuits.
Hollywood has taken note of the Harris-Moore cat and mouse game. Earlier this year, Variety reported that 20th Century Fox has bought the movie rights to a story based on his life.

Wish I could help this kid before he gets blasted. He will soon be in an untenable position, without escape, a life wasted. If he were removed from the area, to learn a productive pursuit, he could probably benefit society, unlike now, where soon he won't be a teenage runner, but an outlaw without job skills.
Not real surprising that he will continue as there is not a lot of jobs out there .
