[cnn-photo-caption image=http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/01/02/liveblogfinal.copy.jpg]

A trainer who runs a California clinic claims to hold the key to helping spinal injury patients walk again.  But some doctors say it could be a hoax. We give you an up close look at the controversy. Plus,  the blame game in the Gulf oil spill and more.

Anderson, what a great way to end the show. I love ulia Louis-Dryfus! Shes right, it's great way to have "made it" and in my world she sure did on "Seinfeld">

I hate it when my last name is spelled wrong. It ends with a 'son' and people keep ending it with an 'sen' so I know how frustrating it is!

    Have a good night everyone!

I wish Beau Biden a quick recovery too.

Does Bryant Neal Vinas want to brag or come clean about his activities?

@Starr Finding out how the leak happened is the heart of the matter. I worry though about the well continuing to pour oil into the gulf.

One pt, Douglas Brinkley said a relief well would take 3-5 months to drill but I thought I read that a relief well could be drilled in 3-5 weeks.

If they spelled my name wrong on the Walk of Fame...that's insult enough I'd say don't bother correcting it just leave my name off it once and for all 🙂
    Goodnight everyone.

Donate and write off the receipt instead of selling it. It helps people and you get a bonus at tax time.

Hurricane season is almost here. How disasterous would it be if a major hurricane entered the gulf of mexico and made land fall along the northern coastal cities with oil still leaking?

I would have thought that the previous crimes (rape & murder) would have been enough to discourage anybody from using Craig's list.

    Guess not.

    May 11, 2010 at 10:54 pm |
  14. Kathy, Chicago

I've never used Craig's list. That story is not very encouraging.

When are they going to close down Craigslist? You would think after all of the bad things that have happened from it would cause them to close it down. I will just stick with ebay.

    @Sarah,
That doesn't suprise me. I can see that. Preying on people that want nothing but to walk again. Only people with money? Thats sad.
Another thing they don't talk about is the pain you go trough. I broke my back in 2001. two surgeries and 8 peticle screws later I'm on very strong narcotic and have good days and more bad days. I am a slave to my pain managment doctors.

What a great question! Perhaps there are other "well specialists" out there that could close this gushing oil well in the Gulf.

Andm Anderson could interview them for the tech's of the problem.

Another crazy vulnerable person abused by manipulators! Cant people see what is happening! Abuse of power and manipulations are everywhere! Something odd is happening! I feel it! Governments and institutions and people are manipulating people!! Political leaders and religious leaders -- all religious leaders - must condemn terror and violence and abuse and greed!!! God commands that we use his name for peace and good, not evil!

When I lived overseas I met a lot of Muslims and most were perfectly lovely and loving but the difference lies in their extremists’. Here we equate religious extremism with having 1 too many wives. There, it is like Bill said about the 'desert crap', they take things way more seriously then we do in the west. Could you imagine the punishments for the bling ring if they lived in Iran?

@Kyle, we have people infiltrate the Mafia and other organizations. I'm sure we can find agents who won't go over to the other side.

There seems to be a pattern with these American Al Qaeda want to be terrorists,,,,and with all the internet access they have ,,,,We just don't know from day to day what will happen.

It just amazes me and confuses me at the same time as to why someone who was raised the way this guy was can all of a sudden turn into someone that wants to turn on everyone and become a terrorist.

In response the mike question, "How is it that this kid can get to the #3 Al Queda leader, but our CIA can't? Why don't we have agents pretending to be recruits?" I believe that the recruits go through a long and vigirous process that weeds out the unloyal. And if one was unloyal and got that far, by the end he'd be so twisted, he'd believe what Al-Qaeda is selling.

One 'homegrown' case is certainly the exception. Most attacks have been radicals from other countries.

    An amazing report by Nic!

I know that France & Belgium have outlawed the Burqa...in part that some terrorist could use it as a disguise – plus it's demeaning to women.

ive been to project walk. its a over priced gym and Ted only wants your money. he only works people out that have money and doesnt really care about your well being. You are only dollar signs to him and that is why he wont push for insurance to be accepted. plus he treats his employees like slaves...ask them the employees only stay because of the friendships they make with the amazing clients Ted sucks money out of on false hope.

Truth is a highly felixable thing, when the solid and whole truth is not known. The cause will no doubt be twisted to suit someones needs or agenda's. Or at the very least, they'll try to do it that way.

This story of the "American al qaeda" is facinating.

Hey wait a second. Mike's comment made me think of something. Is that what the Time Square terrorist was trying to prove? He was one of them -- a dedicated terrorist? Was this an act to prove he was not an American mole? Interesting! Was the Xmas and Time Square terrorists trying to prove they were Jihadists?

@Ann Houston. Exactly. There are claims that only a tiny percentage are radical. Yet you never see the 'silent majority' condemn anything. It makes you wonder how much their sympathies may be aligned.

@Emily I think though the details of the explosion, the activity before and after that event could be discussed. We did get part of that in the video from the hearing.

Great rept by Alina Cho. I appreciate Sanjay's overview of how therapy can help someone with an incomplete spinal cord injury. The young woman did lift her legs on her own with weights on her ankles in the video we saw. It is heartening to hear Sanjay say that intensive therapy can help with her injury.

I’m confused as what to think about Islam and Muslims as a whole. I cannot isolate the crazies from those who are genuine because I don’t see any Muslims on tv pronouncing peace and love, I don’t see very many reaching across to those not within their ranks to assure us that one who claims to be a Muslim isn’t going to blow us up!

@Sharon- thanks and you a likely right that the usual safety measures were not present. It has been reported repeatedly that VP Cheney (at the time) "waived" safety measures.
